Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and am excited to get to know some of the crew out here.  I have owned a few pachislo machines, and have now decided to jump into a slot machine.  As I have kids, I am still interested in a tokenized machine and I found an IGT S Plus Double Diamond on Ebay from Slots4Less.  I talked to them on the phone today...so far everything appears to be as represented.  The price on it came out a little over $500 shipped to my door.

http://cgi.ebay.com/IGT-S-Plus-Custom-Harrahs-Double-Diamond-Slot-Machine_W0QQitemZ260458288637QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ca48615fd&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Anyone have any feedback about this company?  Anything I should be asking?  I will be contacting them again tomorrow.  I was sort of hoping that the reels/strips could be changed as this appears to have come from Harrah's and the reels have their logo in place of the DD logo.  Can anyone point me in the direction of a YouTube vid or something that would indicate which sounds this machine would make as the reels spin, a win occurs, or when the tokens are inserted?

All help and opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to  nlg.  You'll find a lot of people here with a lot of S+ knowledge, so you've come to the right place.

If that's the machine you got (pictured in the eBay link), you bought it from a middleman who bought it from Worldwide Gaming out of Hamel, Minnesota (that's WWG's sticker on the front of the machine and their window cling insert on the right side of the reel glass).  The bill acceptor has been removed.  Depending on, the mounting bracket for it and the cash can may also be removed (you won't know until you open the machine).  It might be worth asking if that bracket is in there, or if they have them and/or a bill validator to include in the game (although eBay regs say that it can't have one).  You should also ask if they can provide you with a set and clear chip for the machine.  The chips (as a set of two) shouldn't cost more than $20 to $25 (total).

I've never dealt with the company you bought it from, so I can't comment on them.

The reel strips can easily be replaced, and Double Diamond is a popular theme so the strips should be available and easy to find at a decent price.  Ask the company you bought from if they have them -- if not post in the classifieds section here on NLG and one of the vendors will get you the strips.  Looking closer at the picture, the glass also appears to be custom Harrah's glass (with their logo on the top award on the glass).  Again, a fairly easy piece to find.  Ask your seller or post in the classifieds here that you need a 9" Double Diamond 3CM top (award) glass and reel strips.

Here's a video that gives a pretty good representation of the sights and sounds of an IGT S+:

<a href="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Ltqeutp5nAs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0]http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Ltqeutp5nAs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Ltqeutp5nAs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Ltqeutp5nAs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0</a>]http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Ltqeutp5nAs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0</a>

Also, as a first-time S+ owner, the following video (although VERY basic) will give you a little bit of a feel of how to get your machine running and what some of the different parts are:

<a href="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/rowdrcsmkUw&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/rowdrcsmkUw&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0" target="_blank">http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/rowdrcsmkUw&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;rel=0</a></a>

Welcome aboad,
You should fill out your profile, so people know more about you and where you are.
$500 delivered for an S-Plus seems good, I'm sure it would be more from WWG direct, perhaps this was a trade in. You could also check with the vendors listed at the top of the page, some may be close to you and will have a choice in machines.

Thanks,
Wayne
P.s.  I sell in Canada.

I bought my first two machines from Slots for less.  ttth
I got a great deal. $700 for the pair delivered to an illegal state.
There were however a number of things wrong with both of the machines. Nothing serious.
Cracked buttons, torn reel strips, scratched glass.

Had they returned any of my phone calls (80+ phone calls in just under 3 months) it would have cost them $40 in parts max.
When I did get a hold of a person (via vi the sales line) they would say they would have their tech call me right back.
NOT one of my messages left on their answering service ever got returned, never did the sales guy get a tech to reply back.
I wrote 3 letters. No response. At one point their answering service was full.

The only good that came out of this was that I learned alot about repairing slots, I met a lot of the founding members of this site while posting on other sites for help. So while I was happy with the value I got on the purchase I will offer a strong buyer beware.

Look at it this way Jay, if it weren't for Slots4Less, you might not be here now!  yes propeller  I guess we owe them. rotflmao

P.S. Your current cat avatar likes slots even more than mine! Mine jumps up and sits on the stool next to me while I play, and rubs his cheeks against the side of the slot to mark it as his. Yours has apparently gone to slot tech school and really gets into his work! Tongue Out

This is not my cat...albiet I have one like it. She is white with a black skid mark on her forhead and a black tail.

This is just a picture I pulled off the net. I kind of hope this cat got in there by itself and was not wedged in.
I would need to wear a full catchers outfit to try and wedge my cat into anything that she didn't want to go into.

My daughters cat is a calico - she has dressed it in dolls clothes since it was a kitten. She still occasionally does and the cat just kind of puts up with it. Then hangs its head as it walks around the house - I am convinced the cat is shooting the others dirty looks and saying "Oh the shame of it all" Its the only one that will wear the antlers at Christmas time without trying to immediately paw them off.

The other Calico - the sister to my daughers (yes we have 3) is more curious about such things and sits on the bar stools watching the slots or the family playing pool.

Does she paw the pool balls or jump on the table to chase them? bust gut laughing bust gut laughing

Yoeddy1, welcome. wave I wouldn't worry too much about having issues that your seller won't or can't resolve, now that you've found NLG. If you do end up having any such issues with your machine, our members and our vendors will get you sorted out in no time.

Did you actually buy the machine yet or just get a price?  If you haven't bought it yet, post your location and a vendor on this site maybe able to help get you a better deal/etc...

Yep, I already bought it...should be getting a tracking number soon.  I'm excited, but also nervous.  I've banged around with Pachislo machines (error codes, resets, cleaning, etc), but these seem to be much more complex...I like a good challenge though.  Hopefully, I'll get to play with it more than more than work on it!  Smiley

The thing with these is that unlike a Pachi, all of the directions and labels are in English!  Smiley  I was a little scared about working on my first S+ that I got just a few years ago -- now they're old hat.  They're very easy to learn, there's a lot of good documentation to be found for them right here on NLG, and a number of members have (or had) one and can help you with just about anything you need.  They're actually not as complex as they look, and they're generally tanks -- once you get them up and running they're good to go for a long time.

Personally, I think I have more fun tinkering with them then playing them, but to each their own.  Smiley

Well, this transaction went about as south as south can go.  I am currently in refund mode with this company.  I have done a ton of reasearch on this company and there are a LOT of things that don't add up.  Anway, same deal, I must have called 100 times to find out shipping status...no answer, no returned calls, no tracking number, no photos.  I was told the unit shipped.  Well, today, I got an email stating that there was an issue with their supplier and that it was out of their control, and that a refund would be sent within 14 days.  What grinds my gears is that this could have been taken care of long before it escalated to this level.  They were certainly happy to call me back when they were taking my money.

I guess I should have done more homework.  Now I have to wait another 2 weeks to get my Paypal refunded...a dispute has been filed nonetheless.

Any words of wisdom or recommendations?

I am wondering if the seller did not like the super low price the machine sold for? stir the pot / get cooking stir the pot / get cooking stir the pot / get cooking

I can suggest that you contact the sellers that have banners at the top of the page. Many of us have had tons of dealings with them. Be sure to ask whatever questions that you may have. Ask for pictures. Have the configuration of the machine confirmed in writing. See if someone is near to you and maybe visit them.

this company probably does not have any machine in stock and buys them as soon as they sell them.
i see that a lot here in Europe.
when they went back to pick it up for you it was already sold by the real seller !

Jay, can you get into a PM dialogue with me regarding your experience with Slots4less ?  After two weeks of stating that I will be receiving a refund of $500, I still have not heard from this clown.  He won't answer his calls nor any emails.  I have a dispute/escalation with Paypal regarding this idiot...hopefully he'll stick to his word.  Two weeks ago I received an email stating that this would be refunded within 14 days, but I'm a little worried that there is no contact.  Anything regarding contact info or your experiences would be appreciated.  I've been doing a LOT of Google'ing and have found some info that doesn't add up regarding this guy.  Anyway, I'll hold off on serious flames/rants for now, but if you could share, I'd appreciate it.

See Ohio Gaming Web Site for info about this company, or one that had the same name in OH, why do you think they say "for Less"....... You get "Less" than a normal priced machine, Less done to it, Less parts put in it, Less quality, Less support, Less....on learned, you get what you pay for

I bought some games from those people as well about 1 1/2 years ago.  Same deal.  I called and called.  This company has different names as well as my memory serves.  Overall experience with them is I think they are "shaddy" to be putting it nicely. Last I knew the place in ohio folded up and they moved their scam operation elsewhere-?. I had bought 4 games over time from them.  Evidentlly they are back in action again it seems.  They probably will refund the money when they are able to as it was most likely spent as soon as it was recieved.  Get your $ back and go with some trusted vendors/people here -Just my thoughts.  Thanks B.

Also as a note I bet you guys talked to "Tina" At the time they were at 2631 Mt Pleasant St. NE Canton, OH 44721 then moved after that and then again.  I had even dealt with "Tina's" husband at times on the few rare occasions i could get them on the phone.  This was a horror story I thought I would never think of again til I read this post and it all hit me again- frying pan. -B.

I received another email on Sunday...

This one was from his wife "supposedly" and she claimed that I would get EVERY penny back...of course no timeline.  Evidently her husband has some kind of cancer since August 21, and it has stressed their family out.  I would love to believe this story, but I seriously have doubts.  She said that his Paypal account has been suspended due to all of the disputes.  What?  Anyway, my escalation is still in motion with Paypal as of last week.  She is claiming that she will send me a check or money order...and of course no timeline.  I reply, and of course, no reply.

I don't trust anybody...sad I know.

I wouldn't trust them either -- just keep your dispute going with PayPal.  If they never sent you anything, you should eventually get your money refunded by PayPal.

Well, Paypal ruled in my favor, but closed the case  and replied with the following:

"After careful review, we have concluded our investigation of the Buyer Complaint described below.

We have decided in your favor, however, we were unable to recover any funds from the seller's account. As stated in the PayPal User Agreement, recovery of funds associated with a Buyer Complaint cannot be guaranteed.

Please know that we will make our best effort to recover the funds in question if they become available in the seller's account in the future and will take appropriate action against the seller. Such action may include issuing a warning, a temporary restriction, or terminating the account.
Keep in mind that PayPal uses a number of factors to determine when to take action, including member complaints. Due to privacy laws, we cannot discuss the details of any action taken. We hope you understand our policy and that it assures you that you are safe using PayPal."

I am desperate for anyone's advice or information about this company that could help me track anyone associated with this company down.  Thanks!
