Hello I now have a 1983 IGT Aristocrat 25 cent slot machine.  It has a broken chip on what looks like the audio or main board, the chip is a 220 ohm bus resistor.  The rest of that board looks good, some empty eeprom slots are like others I've seen so hope im not missing any.  It lights up, the wheels spin, lights flash, coin thing is churning on and off, music plays.  Digital is not working, sometimes blinks random leds.  Hope but doubt its just that bus resistor which is 7 resistors with one common going to pin 1, I can make one using 7 220 ohm resistors correct? What does this board do and whats it called? Is there a service manual anywhere? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It kinda works! Took the computer apart and replaced the batteries with nicad and everything works pretty good. Jackpot comes on and it lights call attendant, The quarters get stuck behind the finger on the wheel that is supposed to kick them out. Should I take it off and bend it back a little so its closer to the wheel?

Hi MC,

I don’t know about your coin carousel but mine wont do quarters very well.  The size of a quarter is a little too big for it to run 100% smoothly.  I found some carwash tokens that seem to work good though.  Post a photo of that finger you are talking about, if you are still working on this machine that is.

Cheers,
Mark

The keyswitch on the left was to turn on the lights by the meters at the top right so you could read the meters without opening the door. It's been disconnected on every one of these machines that I've seen. I expect your cashout switch is jumpered too, so that the hopper kicks out all payouts. It is possible to convert it to credit play if you want to.

This an esprit machine. According to the manual the finger has shims behind it to adjust the distance from the wheel. I would see if you could remove a shim to get it closer, but make sure to check the clearance between the finger and the pins on the wheel that push the coins. I know it has been awhile since your last post but maybe this will help others.
