Hello all,

I am a new slot machine owner and bought a Konami Advantage machine. I have a few questions and maybe you can steer me in the right direction. This is a large forum but I am a quick learner.

1) My Machine has a printer. Is there any software out there where I can take advantage of using the printer?
   - I under stand that it has to hooked up to a network. Has anyone solved a work around?

2) How can I change the game theme. Again, I am new to this and need to be steered in the right direction. I know the game loads from an CF card, is that all that needs to be changed, besides the artwork on the reels and glass?

3) Any where I can find a manual?

Again, thanks for any info you can provide! I included a pic of my slot! Its a lot of fun!

NLG Welcome welcome to NLG coolwavepic! NLG Welcome

regarding the use of the printer...i believe someone beat their head against this issue for home Konami owners awhile back and found a solution.  search it and read through some of the archived topics.  hopefully someone will remember the exact thread for you and give you a link.  i believe you are going to need a CDS sentinel 2 board and maybe an SMI4 board as well as making a harness to interface with the machine.  if your game isn't set up to use the printer right now then you are going to have to try to find an ekey to set up the "secure" options; i've read that these ekeys are very hard to come by outside of the casino's.  i think chinovalleyaz was offering to rent his out awhile back.

to change the theme you will need new reel strips (and maybe the optic strip for inside each reel) and glass (optional - only if you want it to match your new theme), the new software and an ekey to set it up.  are you sure your game software is on a CF card?  i think all of these old Konamis use a bunch of eproms for their game software.  there may also be a CF card but you should have about 8 eprom chips on the mpu board as well.  most likely you will need to replace these chips with a new game theme, or at least some of them.

i have a manual but can't get it off of my work computer without bringing the axe down on myself.  if you get stuck feel free to email me and i'll try to help if i can.  and don't be hesitant to post up here on the forum, there's a lot of very helpful people on here WOOT!  enjoy the new game!!  cheers

kforeman,

Since owning the machine I have found out a lot about the machine. Maybe you can answer some more, new questions....

1) How can update the software? I think I have the older build on the CF. I looked at the Motherboard and it also has EPROM chips with "Golden Theater Deluxe" on them. What I want to do is update it to the newest build, as the RACK UP meter takes forever! I know Konami made updates to this machine as the RACK UP is much faster on the machine at the casino.. also has different win music.

With that being said, when doing updates, do you just have to update the files on CF or EPROM chips as well?

I do have a Konami EL key so I can change the settings whenever.

I've been told the printer just needs the player tracking stuff installed and hooked up in the top box, not hooked up to an external network. The printer communications must loop through the player tracking stuff somehow on the way to the MPU
