I delved into a Summit and went through the learning curve. Did a bit of work identifying the driver board components. This can be helpful for troubleshooting.

On the CPU board, I'd recommend putting a socket under the opto-coupler ILQ-74. It's a frequent problem with the system and would be a good idea to have a spare or two.


In fact, if you get into troubleshooting down to the chip level, it's probably a good idea to install sockets under every chip. And, you can use a cordless phone 3.6v. NiMH battery to replace the nicad original:


Does your machine have a sound card? I added a reel-spin sound to mine and can post some info on that.
