Here's a pic of a machine I have been offered, allegedly a 1940's Mills.
I've never seen anything like it, but then I'm sort of a newbie.
All I have to go on is the photo; seller is even older than I am (!!!)
and not terribly communicative. I have to drive a few hundred miles
to pick it up, and want to be sure it's not just a toy bank or the like.
Is this really a Mills? And is it worth anything after I buy, schlep, and restore?

I do believe it is a mills but definitely not a 40's machine.

Its a Mills Slot Machine.. That ones from the 50's or early 60's. The insides didn't change much over the years.

mills  M head from late 50,s thur mid 60,s worth imo under 500

I have seen this machine listed on Craigslist (Oregon) and it is a Mills Machine. The internals are very similar to the antique machines but the
M slot is electrified and has a hopper. I am not positive but I think that these machines came out around 1968

Here is a website I've seen others recommend, they have lots of info on Mills slots and can give you an approx value on it, plus they buy them from individuals also. They invite people to contact them with questions, you could contact them and send the photo to get a definite date on it, plus other info.

All the photos I've seen of 1940's and older models didn't have a candle, so that is an indication it is likely newer than that.

have to contact them with info on slot machine such as model, year and condition to get a value from what I've heard.

My book has the M head machines were available from the mid 60s to the mid 70s. Pictures are very similar to the posted picture.

Thanks for the info, guys. I passed on this one (actually someone else grabbed it while I dithered...)
I just found another very similar oneone, in worse condition but dirt cheap, and bought it to play with.
If anything comes of the project, I'll post pics.
