I just got my new Alpha and everything works great except the sound. I removed the reels and noticed that some of the plugs are not where they are supposed to be. Something tells me that I'm missing a part, but I could be overlooking something simple. I tried looking at the wiring diagram, but it didn't help much. Please look at the pictures and let me know if I'm missing anything. If someone has a picture of their sound setup it would be helpful so I can plug everything together correctly.

Here is a picture showing the location of the sound amplifier, do you have one? plug looks the correct size. If you need one Rudy has them for $29.00

I found the amplifier thanks to you picture and noticed a burn mark on the board. Do I need to plug the other two cables in somewhere? I also have a feeling the burn mark is stopping the sound from working. Rudys sells the replacement board for $15 bucks but what about the two cables?

Yes that blown capacitor most likely will cause no sound, check for pinched wires to the speakers, belly door is known for harness damage to the sub woofer

Take a look at your Amplifier board.  Do you see any burn marks on that?  The fact you have burn marks and blown components on the back-plane board would indicate that perhaps your amplifier board may be shorted.

I do not have the schematics for the audio amp or the back-plane board, so I am not able to trace anything out for you.

Have seen this several times. The sound amplifier is usually good. You will need a new RCU backplane board where the burned capacitors are located. This circuit is where they filter the 24V to the sound amp. I thinks this problem is caused by someone plugging in the sound amp in with power applied. I have always replace the RCU board and it has fixed this problem.

An easy way to check your Audio amp for a short in the power supply circuit ... 

Take an ohm meter and check between pins 4 and 5 of the 5 pin header located along the edge of the PC board not covered by the heat sink.

If those two pins are NOT shorted your good.   yes

If they are shorted, you will damage your new board if you try and use it.    ttth
