I just picked up a nice Bally 1090 fruit machine off Craigslist for $100.  The machine could use reelstrips and a candle cover, but otherwise is in decent condition.  I've cleaned the contacts.  The problem is that the machine won't accept the 2nd or 3rd coin.  If I remove the upper glass panel and rotate down the light unit, the machine will accept the 2nd/3rd coins while the light assembly is hanging down.  Machine plays fine while the light assembly is down.  When put back up, it stops accepting the 2nd/3rd coin again.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Most likely a loose or broken wire in the bundle attached to the light panel. Sometimes they break inside the plastic sheath and you can't see it. Or, the wire bundle may be pressing on a relay contact when the panel is up.

Wow, you hit that right on the spot.  There was a wire that had come off!  Thanks!

Second question now.... The Tilt light is illuminated.  I'm guessing it's got a mercury switch inside or something?  The button on the top / right turns it off.
