Coin Acceptor
The choices for COIN ACCEPTOR are COIN ACCEPTOR ONLY,
COIN ACCEPTOR AND COD BOARD, or NRI. COIN ACCEPTOR
ONLY and COIN ACCEPTOR AND COD BOARD refer to the
presence or absence of a coin optic decoder (COD)
board (Bally part # AS-03356-0303). Some versions
of Main programs offer choices for Coin Mechanisms,
Inc., CC-62 or CC-16 coin acceptors. The CC-62 does
not require a COD board. The CC-16 does.
NRI refers to the National Rejectors, Inc., brand of
programmable coin acceptors and the processing of
coin information for this acceptor.
Other brands of coin acceptors may be compatible if
they conform to the size and electrical operation of
these acceptors.

Skipper   I figured it was the board they cleaned them on, but I didn't want anyone to think I'm a smart ASS.

A general question for 3 generations of slots. The S6000 mostly had COD boards and would set up with no change tot he default setting.  If the machine has a MC16 then the cod board is not present and it uses a different harness at the comparitor.  Option 69 can be set to determine acceptor type. setting 0000 would be for idx-10 or cc16d , and setting 0001 would be for idx x-20 or mc16.
I don't recall any of the S5500 machines I had that didn't have the COD board.
Not sure on S5000 since most of those went to scrap.

Thanks,
Wayne

thanks for the help Wayne i'm trying to get several bally's slots running they are all in really good clean condition and were supposedly in working condition but i noticed right away that the cod board on one machine is bad and is missing from another machine whene dealing with gamemakers in the past i would simply remove the cod board but it sounds like i should try to find some working boards.

the COD board is the same between the gamemaker(when they have one), S5500 and S6000.  I prefer machines to be coinless, especially the gamemaker with multiple games installed.  I set it at multi denom and for tickets.

Thanks,
Wayne
