I've been reading some posts about Game Makers, and read discussions of 23 or 24 Mains and was wondering what is the difference and how to tell what I'm running. Also 14 graphics... not sure what that means? Also, how do I tell the difference between a V7000 and a V7200?
I've posted a couple of pictures in hopes that someone could explain the differences between a V7000 and a V7200. If you need a picture of the board to tell, I could get that for you.
Thanks, Jim

The version of mains refers t a # on the main chips, same thing with the graphics.  I can't remember the format used, but I think they end with a -xx, where xx is the version.  It you take pics of the main chips and the graphics, I'm pretty sure I can tell you what they are.

The difference between a V7000 and a V7200 is easy.  The V7000 had a DBV validator (145 or 200), the V7200 had a WBA.  They used the same boards and game software.

Edit to add: There is also a screen in the test menu that will tell you what version you are running.  I don't remember the name of that either, but it's a chip check of some kind and takes a minute or so to run.  arrow

Okay, I looked for that screen you mentioned and came up with the eprom test screen where it showed the M0 socket with this number: M1002G 2104-24 and the M1 with a similar number ending in 24. I suspect then I'm running 24 mains. if so Is that good? Is that a benifit over the others? If I decide to change games, does it mean there are certain one  I can use...ones compatible with "24 mains"?
Thanks for the help, Jim

Just about all the games for the Game Maker were compatible with just about all of the mains, as far as I know.  Your 24 mains are newer than we were running in the casino when we took the last of the V7200s out, so you should be fine.

SilverFerret, you might want to check out this thread, which I should have created a long time ago. I've added it to the stickied threads on this board.
Thanks for posting your question. applause You should also read the posts and download the files in all of the other stickied threads as well.

7000 or 7200, the boards are the same, its the software that is different, (m-0, m-1) and i swap  for the later all the time due to the games and multi denomination.
