Hi to everyone, I recently hook up 12 bally gamemakers 7000 with a currency technology system and worked just fine....even in the communications test field on the machine I can see the progressive levels of the controller,  the issue at this time is that I'm trying to hook up 12 bally gamemakers 7200 with a Con2. At first I thought that since backplanes in some way look similar with the models mention above, the connection in  JPOPRO1 would be the same. Pin 1 for the machine number  Pin 2 for Rx+ Pin 3 for Rx- and Pin 7 for common.
So.... I made the harness from the backplane to the Con2 . Machine number on pin 9 in J2 I believe, common on Pin 1 in J2, Rx+ in pin 1 on J3 and Rx- in pin 2 on J3. So far I can send coin pulses to the controller and increment the progressive level on it as well in the chameleon ext. display, but can't get the progressive value on screen in the machine. Using the psp to configure the Con2, I've tried to use the bally protocols for ex. MS24 and M00 or M05 but I guess there's some setting I'm missing.
Any help would be appreciated.

I already get the progressive value on screen in the machine using another setting in the protocol on the Con2!!!!  But can't reset the progressive level to the base value....... when a progressive level is hit.
On the psp program setting M08 and MS24 in the Con2, then in the communication test sending coin pulses increments the jackpot values as well as jackpot pulse triggers the progressive value,  but can get the value on screen... it only shows JKPT.
......Any ideas?

Make sure the RESW value is not set in PSP. When this is set the CONx unit wants a second hardwire reset via a jackpot style key switch.
Normally once the slot resumes regular play the reset value is displayed. I am not a bally guy so I can't help with the 3rd wire data-return.
My only speculation on this is that you have the coin-in and GND wires reversed. Since the data-return line shares the Gnd wire you would not be getting your data in but the meter would continue to increment.

It makes sense!!!  At this time I had to make an additional 2 wire harness. From the pin 5 (txdb-) from the backplane on the machine to a key switch, and the other cable  from pin 1 in the backplane (prog1...machine number starting on pin 9 in the con2 for every machine) to  force the jkpt on the controller.  stir the pot / get cooking It's functionally and works fine... no matter how much time you maintain the key switch pulse... for 3 to 4 seconds it's necessary to do this. No serial or machine fuses on the con2 burns out! The only thing is that I can only use the first progressive level hissy fit cause the machine can't reset the below progressive values on the controller with this method, only the first one..... banghead
So, using a con2 with bally 7200 and not been able to use more progressive levels it's my issue.
I have to admit that I saw this bally platform on a casino with progressive levels an at the time thought the connection can be possible, but after playing as a costumer and hitting a progressive value, my surprise was that the floor technician reset to base value using a laptop on the cashier...? Scratch Head
So, I had to ask him.....  arrow and guess what? They weren't able to program the con2 to reset the progressive values..... so they use the psp program, a long long harness from the cashier to the physical location of the con2 and perform the reset..... Crazy     Big Solution!!!!   bust gut laughing
