Title: Reseting the jackpot payout?
Post by: Sparky23 on July 30, 2009, 08:31:20 PM
Is there a way to stop the jackpot from being paid out or do I to keep filling the hopper up until all the credits are paid out?  I have my machines set to hold the maximum amount of credits 9999 but other day a friend was playing the one machine that had 4000 credits already on it and he hit a royal flush for 8000 more credits and then the machine started to pay out automatically from the hopper. I tried everything to stop the payout but nothing worked and I ended up filling the hopper over and over until 8000 credits were paid out!  :25-  Is there anyway to avoid this or am I stuck the next time it happens?

Thanks for any help.

Your only option would be to use a clear chip.

Once it has started paying you're stuck recycling coins until it's finished (unless you use a clear chip, as Jay mentioned).

Your best bet to avoid this in the future would be to change your hopper limit to 3999 coins (which you can only do with zero credits on the machine) so that way any hit of 4000 (a Royal Flush) would trigger a jackpot lockup/handpay (where you'd just have to flip the jackpot reset key to clear the win rather than have it pay out everything in coins).

Re-reading your post, it looks like you have it set up with a max bet of 10 coins for an 8000-coin Royal payout?  Set the hopper limit to 7999.

If you had another set of poker roms, you could change it and it would re-init the system and stop paying coins.

Thanks guys!  It makes sense now that I think about it to set it to 7999 I never thought of that before.  But will I still run into the same problem if there is credit on the machine and someone hits something that makes it go over 7999?  Something like 4000 on there already and someone hits a royal for 8000?

Nope, any single hit of 8000 credits or more will trigger a jackpot/hand pay if your hopper limit is set to 7999.
