any one have any idea what caused this error on igt s2000?   I had this same error earlier when I was first setting this slot up, it worked fine for several days and now the error is back.

Gotta be a bad ground in the meter harness dude!
Scrutinize that harness for something loose!
Swap it with a know good one if possible to see if the errors come back, perhaps?

The mechanical meters?
The clicking counters?
It's possible there also may be a setting in the options to dis-able them too.
But really I think it's a misaligned door optic or belly door switch...
those darn things cause all kinds of irrelevant error codes.

I'll check the options settings tonight because I think I've seen some machines without the meters.
You're suggestion about the door optics is one I'll investigate too.

on S2000 just tie pin 1 and 2 together on the meter harness to disable them. 

However the issue can be the cabinet I/O card is bad or loose. 

Also you have to use just the jackpot reset key and close the door sometimes to clear errors.
