Hi,
I've been fighting a "Main Battery Low" message on my Fishin For Cash machine, and I'm finally at the point where I need to ask for help.

I've replaced both of the batteries on the main CPU board with brand new replacements. The voltages on both of them now check out fine. However, I'm still getting the "Main Battery Low" message when I start the system. I've tried restarting a few times to no avail. I've also turned the jackpot reset key (as was suggested in a similar post from 2008), but the service menu on my system does not progress past the initial screen of options.

Anyway...I hate to sound like a Newbie, but I am. And, I could use any help/suggestions that anyone might have to offer.

Thanks!

You may want to try a ram clear, I recall some visions with a battery issue requiring a ram clear after replacement.

I hate ask a dumb follow-up question, but...how do I perform a RAM clear? I've searched this forum a few times and have seen mentions of clear chips / key chips, but nothing ever really detailed.

I've looked around here a bit, but I'm guessing there's a FAQ somewhere that explains this.

Sonny, I think a ICV097 ram clear and a Key 17 will do the trick.

Maybe someone else can chirp in if I am wrong...but I used those successfully on my S2000 Reel Touch and they are basically the same machine.

Try closing the door with the lever down, wait, then lift up and hold for a second and let down, try this several times before a clear chip, the game stacks codes and you may just have several errors

Jim...

I've always been told that when you change out the batteries you only have so much time before you have to do a clear before the memory is lost.  For example I know I was told once by someone very good with S-plus's that after a week without batteries you are pretty much forced to to a clear to reset the BV...but before that time period you have good chance of not having to go though that process

Just curious what you input is and is it any different for S2000's or Visions?

I agree with Jim (Blueridge), I have had machines that had several codes, door open mb, bv crc mismatch etc.  I open then close the door several times and sometimes do a netplex config, then it's up and running.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to clear the error codes with the door latch method as suggested. If that doesn't work, I'll give the RAM clear a try.

Also, in case it matters, Fishin' for Cash is a Vision machine, not S2000.

Thanks.
