I have a reel touch that loads up all the way to the Bucks Ahoy title screen and then it comes up with a protocol
mismatch error. Does anyone know what the error means offhand? What should I check first?
Thanks for your help.

I have a Reel Touch Bucks Ahoy machine that is giving me a protocol mismatch error on the display. I have been rebuilding this machine from parts, I tried several SB chips and I would get a MSVERIFY error, I finally got an SB chip (Dont have the number handy) to load the game to the keychip screen. I set everything up there, and when I leave the keychip menu it says protocall mismatch. Any idea's what I should check? I am on the lookout for an SB chip list on NLG, but I can't find a catalog of Sb games on here to compare my SB chip.

I was thinking there must be a conflict with the version of the SB EPROM I have... But the game loads all the way and I can get into the options, I just can't get the machine to play. The top box just gives me the message " there is a problem with the machine" the display on the machine door says "protocol mismatch" opening and closing the door won't reset it.

I think you are on the right track. Protocol Mismatch is a problem between the ATA, Version chip or the SB Chip (and maybe the SG).

Mine the other day was a bad SB file.

Thanks, I will try some other SB chips and SG chips and see where it leads. I will post the results.

I think I mentioned this somewhere else before but an NLG member named "steveslots" has a Bucks Ahoy for sale.
If you send him a PM, he might be able to tell you what in his machine?

I figured it out, I needed a different Sb chip than the one I had in in. It's working now.
