Nice Nice Nice
You have to become the AVP Guru though, but I suggest being careful what you do to it. I heard the various software keys or such can be $$$.

Why I cant I find a AVP 3 reel haywire.

Thank you all.   Hail  I'm so psyched!  I'm not worthy!

Can you believe I've got both software keys ... clear and e-Key (they're USB now).  I even got the keys for the WMS plus extra software!

I stumbled upon an unbelievable opportunity at the right time.  It's one of those one-of-a-kind chances where I was in the right place at the right time, and NO, nothing illegal - I don't do that.  I just happened to meet up with someone who works for a casino that offered employees an awesome deal on machines and it just all worked out.  For the employee, they didn't have an interest, but for me, it was like hitting Megabucks!  For the first time, I feel like living in Las Vegas actually gave me a bonus.  I'm so psyched!  Been playing all afternoon.

 Ecstatic / Top Award

I will definitely do my best to become as knowledgeable as possible. propeller yes

Sorry to be such a :ph-

Nice find!!   Clap
Getting the software keys is a big plus!!

Question:
When I play poker on AVP at my local casino there is a noticeable delay between pressing the hold keys and the cards showing up as held on the screen. About a one second delay. Does your machine do that or is it just the machines I'm playing?

Wow Dave!  That's excellent!  Heading to Vegas and Disneyland next week.  If I had the time, I'd come by and play that shiny new Game King!  Man, don't sell your classics.  Those chrome beauties are special gems!

I'm not seeing that delay.  It's very responsive (although the DEAL key needs to be tended too ... hard to press).  However, it doesn't deal as fast as my older GK.  I'm going to key it today to add a lot more denoms, progressives, etc., so I'll check for deal speed and see if it's a setting.

Glad to hear there is no delay. Don't know why the 044 machines I was playing were so slow to hold a card?? Dealing was ok, just when you pressed hold there was a delay until it showed the card held. There were no progressives to slow them down. Gives me a reason to go back to the casino and figure it out!  yes
WMS BB2's are great slots!! Can't wait for videos!!

Well I keyed it today and learned a LOT about the AVP platform and the USB eKey.

Turns out I have AVP 2.0, which is older ... there is now 2.5 and 3.0 that I know of.
The game theme is Game King 6.2.

I'm documenting the steps for clearing and keying and will post those (if no one has yet).
I also resolved some errors that I think are common enough to be good troubleshooting tips, like, "DOOR OPEN M", "DOOR OPEN LB", "NO VALID LICENSE", and how to hook up Bettor TITO, so I'll add those posts too.

As for videos, I think a good overview inside and out would probably be helpful, where things are located, what they look like, how to remove the "brain box" (aka MPU), where the motherboard and IO card are, what the 8 extra USB's on the MB are used for, etc.

The biggest downside I see right now is that I can only set 6 denominations.  I typically use a lot of denoms because I like 100-coin play on lower denom and 5-coin on higher, plus I like having all of the variations of games such as the various wild-style games like deuces, jokers, etc. and the aces-style games like White Hot, Aces/faces, etc. not to mention the triple double double bonus plus blah blah blah.  Ha ha!  So, needless to say, 6 denoms was a challenge for me.

The next biggest downside is how long it takes between reboots.  Ugh!

Dave, If you have questions on the AVP, I would love to help, I have 77 of them. From 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 and 3.0M Server based. They can be tricky but once you get the hang of them they are pretty cool.

I have some manuals as well, shoot me your email and I will get em over to you.
