I'm not sure about the mini-berthas, but the big machines definitely spin more slowly (in terms of RPM). You can clearly see it in a casino.

Of course, that doesn't mean that different timeout code is needed. It might also depend on how many stepper positions there are per revolution.

We do know that if the timing of the stepper doesn't match the expected value it tilts, because an S+ will give a reel tilt if the reel rubs against a harness or something else on the door while in play.

Coxwho1, I see you haven't been back since last night, but when return, let us know the SS chip number as well.
AND:
...Also, do you have a clear chip and a set chip for your machine?

Guys, I'm thinking that the machine could use a clear, and if that fails, a replacement SP chip. Anyone else agree or have a better idea?

Reasoning:

The display is functioning correctly (all LED segments work and display numbers correctly in test menus) and the SP code drives the display. The rest of the machine appears to be operational. It could also be the MPU board, but I'd start with the clear and then the SP first.

Agreed.  We still need/want confirmation on the type of machine (is it a mini bertha or just a standard machine), and if it ever did work properly with this SP chip.
