I am looking to put a new outside material on an S+ machine.  I am not sure what is the best to use or even what is orginally used, let alone where to buy it. 

Is it laminate, wood veneer, or what?
What demensions do I need....a certain thickness?

Where do I buy it?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

Most S+'s I've seen use mica, but the frame is just a plain metal frame. You could get creative and use any material you can adhere to it. You just have to clean what's there now really well to get ride of the glue from the original mica.

Do you know of there is a "standard" size for the Formica, thickness wise?

It doesn't really matter as the mica never interferes with any of the doors or moving parts.  Just buy what you like.

Formica does come in different thicknesses. I know of at least 2.  If you have a round top machine you will want the thinner one so you can bend it around the top easily. If not use the thicker. Good luck.

Idesign has two beautiful wood veneer round tops. Nicest I have ever seen. I have "Volunteered" to be in his will.
If your going to the trouble of redoing your machines I highly recommend this.

BBH213,   There are many manufactures of Formica. For a slot machine brand is not that important. Any building supply store carries Formica ( HD, Lowes, ect) and can order just about any color style you like. If you have never worked with Formica you may want to strip the cabinet down and take it to a cabinet shop and let them do it. To do a nice job you would have to router the edges. Just a suggestion remove the round top and do that separate.

Thanks for the great advise!  I am going to the casino today to do some market research...haha...then to Lowes to get out the Formica.

I bought a 4 X 8 sheet of Formica from Lowe's and there has to be some trick to be able to bend it over a round top without it breaking. I don't know if you have to heat it or what but I do know you can't bend it very much without it breaking like a piece of wood.
