Do it, Mark! Do it!

If you get out here within 10 days, I'll shoot down there to shake your hand at the Command Center and we'll put a picture up on the "Wall of Shame".
 :79-
David, you can take the picture and then we'll trade spots. :89-

If you look at my mapquest picture, you'll see how far up in the Northeast I am...
They call this area of the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains the "Northeast Kingdom"...

Funny thing though - I've never seen any king's around here... :5-

Ahh...It's nice to know I've got options.... :96-

Roughly, what did the plane fare cost from NY to Vegas?
It was $800 to the Alamo and back this past summer...cripes! It was hot down there! Phew!
Maybe I'll have to go on expedia dot com or something...
anybody got some plane tickets they're not using? LOL
I am seriously thinking of getting a big shipping box and go by Priority Mail Overnight.
I might just need a couple of sandwiches, a 2 liter bottle of water and an empty pepsi bottle... :5-

$300 Each way - Jet Blue -- lol and on the way back the weather was so bad we run out of gas and were forced to land in Newberg NY to refuel.  Took me 11 hours to make it back.

Stout,  I am pretty good at stirring  :79- S**T up here---- :208-.  I have enjoyed all the posts in this topic even though I am continually getting Karma dumped on--- :25-.  They should just do away with the negative karma thing and create a bonified bitch-fest forum topic and encourage the cowards to come out and speak.  Just another one of my hair-brain ideas-- :25- :30-.  B.

See what happens when a group of us sillies put our heads together? We've shortened your trip from four days of looking for restrooms, to your choice of either eleven hours of soda and peanuts, which includes a free scenic tour of the beautiful Newberg airport :239-, or an overnight quickie in a box. :106- :233-  (we won't tell anyone!)
You're practically here already!  :136- :202- :202-

We could get a Concord jet and get it down to three hours, or I could call Edward's and get an Air Force jet to get you here even faster. We could party all night and have you home in time to kiss the wife when she wakes up and then head out to work.  :5- :30-

Or if you insist on being practical, you could fly here for $600 and win the money to pay for the trip at the blackjack table. I'll bring counting tutorial software and some books with me to the command center and give you a crash course. :79- :214-

But wait! There's more! :71- If you act now, you can bring your clubs with you and we'll include, at no small charge, a self-paid trip to a great golf course of your choice. If you don't want to spring for Pebble Beach or the like, Las Vegas has more golf courses than you can shake a club at.

I dealt cards in Blackjack routine for a few years when I was in my 20's....
It was a blast being part of all that! But the hours were crazy.
I got more fun being in charge of a security surveillance team and finding the cheats.
Then I got into building machines and setting up surveillance using Pelco PTZ cameras.
Presently, doing R&D for a local traditional Mohawk Nation is the most fun job
I've ever had other than building skyscrapers!
That's why I get time to get online here and learn more all the time!
But ya think they're gonna send me out to AZ? LOL I need a really, really good excuse!  :96-

Tell them that you need to visit the Cocopah casino to study their methods of security :68- :209- and their linked progressive techniques. :94-
...and that you need to visit Las Vegas to walk some fresh iron and keep up your other skill sets.  :199- LV has lots of exposed stuff in high places for you to play on. :71-

Don't try to tell them you're going to study security at the Avi, they are fresh out. :30- :30- :30-

And all that iron in Vegas is abandoned at the moment, nobody working on any of it from what I've heard... :71-

My wife wants to see the Hoover Dam...is that far from Joey's?

It's a recession.

You can go to Joey's either of 2 ways from Vegas, via 95 or 93. if you take 93, you will drive on Hoover Dam, so it's easy to park and check it out.
If you take 95, you would have to pass the turnoff for 95 and go to the dam, then backtrack to the 95 cutoff.

Google maps shows about a 10 minute savings if you do the pass/backtrack route rather than just take 93. Personally, I've heard horror stories about 95, the 55 (or was it 50) speed limit and Nevada cops. 93 is a 70 speed limit, and there's always a rabbit wanting to do 85 or so, so you're probably not in as much danger of a performance award from the Arizona State Troopers.

Every member of this forum is required to do at least some of the following things:
Have an intrest in slot machines
Own some slot machines
Make at least one trip to the Command Center.

I plan on doing that at some point next year. Of course it's more fun if you can mix the trip in with business.

Well I believe that CJ and I were the first visitors to the pre-command center that existed in Joeys garage.

I was in Vegas for a AMA (American Management Association) course. I flew in a day early and CJ drove in from Orange County, picked me up and drove out to Bull Head.

I can still remember my wifes reaction to this plan. "OK she says - let me get this straight - you are flying across the country to meet this guy in Vegas - this is a guy you only know through a web forum - where no one uses their real names. Now if that is not creepy enough - you are then going to get into his private vehicle and drive out into the middle of a desert away from the people and lights and public places in general to supposedly meet another guy that neither of you actually know".

I said "umm - when you put it that way it doesn't sound nearly as much fun". She then said "What did you tell the kids about facebook and other web activity. How about you explain this to them".  Did I mention she can really be a party pooper.....  She then made me show her where the life insurance documents were kept.

So far things have worked out just fine.... now if I can just find a way out of Joeys basement  :72- Its not so bad he occasionally allows me up for the 4th of July parties.

So,....why in the world starting a website like this?
Wasn't not there that other slot website already in "full force"?
I've been on over there but I found it fairly ...well..."plain"?

Title: Re: Stout's Trip to Jim's

Because that "other slot website" is geared towards the professional, and has a tendency to show some attitude to private owners.

I once made the "mistake" of posting some info taken from a PAR to help out another guy that was not getting any answers and almost got ripped a new one.
50% of questons asked get a response back like "Call your IGT representative for support on that". If I had access to IGT I would hardly be asking on a web forum.

The people there certainly know their stuff and many of them thankfully grace us here - I would say that we foster a culture of participation vs exclusion.

I would however say that there is a generational gap between what we require as a knowlege base (ie platforms we use are at least 5years behind whats current) and what they are dealing with in a real time / real life scenerio where real money is at stake. We also need to understand that the industry regulation and the threat of losing a job and/or licence often acts as a deterrant to boadly offering up assistace to our non - industry faction.
