Title: Willy's Workbench
Post by: angryninjas on December 13, 2013, 04:10:03 PM
Just wanted to start a thread where people can submit questions for Willy's Workbench in the magazine.  Feel free to ask any questions you may have about any slot topic, and we'll try to include them in the magazine.

Looking for submissions for quick questions for Willy for the February issue.  Anyone got anything they want to ask a tech?

I have a few questions about Willy ...

How about a short introduction ... Who is Willy the Slot Tech? Where does Willy work?  How long has Willy been a Slot Tech?

I would guess that Willy would not be able to play the slots at the property he works for, but how about table games ... Can he still play at the property he works for?
Any restrictions on playing the slots at other properties?

How often are slot hold percentages changed at a typical casino?  Can the property decide to change up the percentages at will, or do they need special permission from the gaming commission before any changes can be done?

That might actually make a good article.  He's actually a friend of mine that I worked with when I worked for Princess Cruise Lines.  He only dealt with the machines on board the ship... probably about 50 machines total.  Not sure if he worked for land based casinos before that or not... but I'll see if he can do an introduction article.  I know he's not on a current sea contract at the moment.  When I was on board, employees of the cruise line COULD technically gamble in their down time, but it was majorly frowned upon.  No rule against it, but they don't like it, because if you're winning, the passengers think it's because you are an employee and have an inside connection with the dealers or whatever.

Hey CommTech,

I'm putting together the February issue, and Willy said that he will address your questions in his column this month!  :)
