I have a couple of the older "1985-90" Universal slots. Notice that the "UNIVERSAL" name plate on the front below the reel glass always gets scratched up. Appears to be painted on.
I found a real nice one on my spare parts shelf. This one is a decal put over the scratched paint emblem. Put it on one of my slots. Much better!
I've seen these before on pic's of other Universals.

I was wondering, does anybody know where to get these decals??

Here's a couple of pic's, the good one, and a typical painted one.

This is a very old post but it appears that no one posted any suggestions or answers.  I can tell you that for smaller sized decals such can easily be reproduced with a scanner and a color printer.  You can google "decals" or "water slide transfers" and a number of suppliers of decal paper will show up.  The paper is available either clear or with a white background depending on if you desire transparency (say in the case of light shining through) or not.  The image is scanned into a file (photoshop is one option) and then printed onto the special paper.  After the image dries for about 24 hours the decal is sprayed with solvent based fixative and after that dries the decal is ready to be (soaked in water) transferred to the permanent surface.  After the applied decal dries thoroughly more fixative is spray on.  These things work very well and look as good as the original depending on the quality of the original, scanning, etc.
It may be possible to find a larger format scanner or art work generated by a suitable program.  I'm sure that large size decal/transfer sheets are available.
Good Luck. Geoff
