I've been restoring this Universal Test Unit.
I've gotten all new buttons and lens.
There's quite a few more things going on with this as I'm having a blast learning
a lot about an great old platform!

I installed an 8552 Mag7s chip into the 2A location on the 8116-A2 board.
There's a 8601 Mag 7s chip in the 4A location as well.
This board has several harnesses coming off of it.
I'm amazed at all the board wiring work that was done to it.

I have several questions of course! lol

1).When I power up the Test Unit, the "2 Coin" light comes on.
Is this particular Mag 7s chip a 2Coin game?

2).In the Win Meter LED display, it alternates between "50" and "13" - would this
mean that there's 13 credits in the Ram and "50" meaning the door is open?
(I have a light on the Test Unit showing "Door Open".

3).Which harness coming off the board would be for the door optics or cherry switch?

4).If anyone can tell me what all the harnesses coming off of a Universal 8116-A2
board are for, that would be very helpful!

Here's a couple of very short clips to show you guy what I've been working on.
If anyone can pick out what is being displayed in the Win Meter -
It would be awesome. Maybe I need a list of Universal error codes?

hmm...found this in the Universal Manual.
The "Door Open" indicator light could be correct because the flashing "50" could
very well mean the door isn't connected to one of
the three unknown harnesses coming off of the 8116-A2 board.

Bunker, looks like you are having too much fun....haha, great videos.

That's a great looking project you have going on there, kinda like NASA central.

I don't know much about universals but uniman does.

He helped me out with a universal that I have.

Is there a test unit like this for igt slots?

Or is it like the bigfoot, you always heard one exits but never seen one?

Actually, there's a Test Unit for S+'s at HQ.
They don't have the harnesses though. no
Give me a couple of full days on that sucker and I'll figure it out!!! yes
Anyways here's a short clip of the "21"(Coin-In)  &
"50"(Door Open) Error codes popping up on the Test Machine.
The indicators lights lit up are "Call Attend." , "Tilt", and "Door Open".
Anybody got a complete Universal coin mech unit to sell? >>>
