Title: 19" and 25" monitor chassis repair?
Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on December 06, 2012, 02:15:53 AM
Is there a member here who can repair some 19 and 25" monitor chassis for me? If not, who would you recommend?
(1) 25" Sega Virtua Cop...It comes on for @ 10 seconds then shuts off
(1) 25" Golden Tee Fore
(1) 25" Area 51
(1) 25" Silent Scope Dark Sillouette
(1) 25" Mortal Kombat..... It comes on but just a green screen
(1) Buck Hunter....It comes on and just shows a red screen

All but 3 of the 25" monitors are completly dead

(1) 19" Ms. Pacman
(1) 19" Sega Power Drift

Both 19" chassis are dead

Thanks,

David

What manufacturer are the monitors themselves? You may need to stick your head inside to see the circuit board chassis. Maybe ceronix, kortek, tatung...I don't know many myself but I know a few guys who have worked on CRT monitors in those size ranges. I could talk to them for you and find out what it'll cost you but I'm sure they're going to need to know some more details. If you want pm or email me whatever you got for more data! :3-

I can check out your chassis if you send them to me. Cant say about the CRTs though. Try gently tapping the screens with a screwdriver handle in the case of the red screen and green screen, especially if they have slight diagonal lines . If  the picture returns you have a G1 to Cathode short which can be removed with a sencore CR70. Or install a isolation transformer. Or I can guide you through repairs if you haqve the time. Let me know! I have been a monitor tech for 30 years.
