I am looking to see if anyone knows what chips to change my 3 coin 3 line S+ 16 inch Triple diamond from a 3 line to a nine line. After some research it looks like SP1271 (or possibly SP1227 or SP1160) and SS6992 (or possibly SS334) Then I would need to get a 16" (award) glass and reel glass?
  Thanks Wayne

Yes,
You're on the right track!
About the "reward" glass though?...LOL....it's called an "Award" glass...  Tongue Out

eh? Pretty much the same line of thinking though!

I think it was brichter that made an X with some shiny reflective automotive pinstriping tape
behind the reel glass to make his into a 9 liner.

Thanks Bunker. I now know just enough to be dangerous to myself. How about if I say 16" top glass. I'm surprised I know 16". I got the reel glass right. Pinstripe tape would work for me.

The problem with that game is that there's a lot of Triple Diamond
belly glasses for sale on fleabay but I rarely see the "reward" glass up for bids....
Try placing an ad for one in the "Classifieds" section of NLG.
The vendors love lurking around in there hope to place a sale!
I'm sure someone will have what you want...
might have to take out some of your xmas money to get one though!

Crap it's always something. Maybe I can pinstripe the reel glass, and take some paint and gold foil to a piece of glass on the back side and make my own awards glass. Viola, Free 9 line Triple Diamond machine. LOL. I'll just keep my eye out for the glass I need. Someone somewhere will have one for a good price. I just wanted to get the right chips now for my spare board in case I change the machine down the line. Will still work fine for test purposes but I'll win when I didn't think I should have. As little as I know I probably wouldn't even notice. Thanks for letting me know these are the chips I want. I'm pretty sure I'm driving Nicole crazy as I've changed the chips I bought 3 times already.

They seem very understanding and I been testing them. Maybe Hogwild4u2 would be easier to remember than all those numbers. I guess there is a hogwild4u1. Probably their dad. They seem to have a lot of parts, will check to see if they have anything you ask for, and prices are reasonable. You need to know exactly what your looking for though. I think Nicole is sorry she told me if there was anything else she could help me with just ask. I did warn her though she may be making a mistake telling me that. Come to think of it she hasn't gotten back to me about my chipset change????? I may have gone over my limit?????? I also told her to hurry up and ship my parts before I buy something else from them and make things more confusing. Tough dealing with a newbie I'm sure you understand.

Per the bible - if you click on Ricks Faq at the top of the home page and choose the IGT S+ Bible that should give you the game chips - make sure you have your x-ray-specs on the font listing the bible is rather small.

I would touch base with Frank at Casino Glass in las Vegas. (Do a search on the site for Frank and his number has been in a number of posts). His costs were around $60.00/sheet for any glass. They may have changed as its been a few years since I purchased from him. If anyone would have this theme it would be him.

Thanks Guys. I'm new at this but I did look at the bible and it's all greek to me. There must be 50 chips but I picked the ones that said 9 payline, 10mhz., but when I get to the IDO23, and set088,91,101, etc I guess those are chipsets on the board but I have no idea. I asked so many questions already I'm embarassed to ask any more stupid questions. Bunker has helped me more than I would have hoped he would but I don't want to be annoying.. Also said $.01/$.05 and I figure thats 1 cent and 5 cent, and mine is a quarter machine? All three chips have the same $.01/$.05 so I think that is OK. Read post where someone said the SP1271 was faster payout chip? I figured several people have done this before is why I asked. I appreciate the help and will recheck to make sure. Buzz : SS7102. 03,04,05, and 7106 are all 2 coin buy a pay whatever that means. I looked at 3 line(mine) and 5 line 9 paylines. Reel glass is not as important to me as the award glass as mine is 3 line already so close. (Bunker notice I said "AWARD" glass)
  Thanks Wayne

Wayne there are many people on this site that can word this much better than I. But I'm going to try. The only two parts in your machine that care what size coin you drop in are the coin Comparitor and the coin optics. The machine it self works on credits ( it doesn't care how you get them ) The chips for a Five dollar machine and a nickel machine are the same. Take the sample coin out of your Comparitor ( quarter ) and replace it with a nickel, you now have a nickel machine. Now I can get in a pissing contest on what has to be changed in the hopper to change from a quarter to a nickel, S+ I use nickels in a quarter hopper quite often, never had a problem, except maybe shim the coin optics. ( Casino standards NO my standards YES )

I don't think anyone minds your questions. You ask, Bunker ans. I learn. Every one wins. Wayne you being new here just remember when you leave Karma, Bunker likes the RED arrow for him self

First off there are no stupid questions.

IDO23, and set088,91,101,

IDO23 is the designation for the JCM Bill Validator. On the DBV 145 and 200 there is a switch that allows you to flip from IDO22 & IDO23. Most of the newer games were IDO23.
Other platforms like Williams and Bally would use other numbers.

The Set Chips are what are used to activate the Bill validator. You only need one of them = they are just noting what the compatiable ones are.

Going back to fundementals  There are two chips that are required to run your slot. The GAME chip and the REEL chip.

- The reel chip is unique to each theme. These handle the %% payback, which symbols are the winning ones. Triple Diamond 9line 95% would be a specific reel chip. A Triple Diamond 9line 92% would be a different chip. Double Diamond Deluxe 94.5% would be a different chip. 1 Theme = 1 Chip. Occasionally there are game clones which use the same chip. For instance 5 line Double Diamond, and 5 line Gold Mountain are the same game. The only thing that differs is the glass and strips. The paytables, order of symbols etc are exactly the same.
Each reel chip has a PAR sheet associated with it. PAR = Paytable and Reel. The "real" IGT game bible is no more than a binder full of Par sheets. The ones we have here is a compliation of information and we list all of the different chips by theme title.

- The game chip (in this case SP1271)  handles most of the slots basic functions.
Game Chips come in different 'TYPES'. Type 0 (no special features) are supported by most game chips. Type 5 supports nudge features .... as long as the game chip TYPE matches the theme there is no need to change the game chip when you change themes. Each of the game chips has an associated sheet called a PSR. PSR = Program Summary Report. The PSR lists all of the different options you can set. Not the easist document to read - R273 has spent a considerable amount of time creating a document called The simplified Option sheet which is an excel spreadsheet that walks you through changing options for most of the major game chips. You can find a zipped copy of this in the Upload a newfile area.

SP731 supports different reel music etc on some themes (not all). The Sp1271 which is the newer version of this chip is the most popular game chip - due to stability, available features, speed. However IGT abandonded the reel music on the 1271 to add more accounting features.

This simplifies things. I don't have a dollar bill validator so none of that matters to me. Only problem is where I bought the chips they are going to kill me as I changed what I asked for 5 times now. Buzz are you messing with bunker? As I said I'm no rocket scientist but red has to be bad Karma. Don't know how to leave Karma anyhow. Thanks again to everyone.

Thats good Bunker cause half the time I read your posts I crack up. As soon as I figure this Karma thing out I'm going to send you 10 red Karmas since Buzz says you like the red ones. Wonder what color Karma Buzz likes? He helped me too. Probably red like Bunker.  Didn't see the simplified option sheet in user uploads. Simple is good for me.
I want to be sure I understand this. The reel chip is the important chip for changing my 3 line to a 9 line? (Because the 3,5, and 9 line use the same reel strips)And the game chip can be any type 0 chip? Nicole has the SS7106 which is the lowest pay % of 85.026 for 9 line. Game chip she has the SP1137 which is the type 0 Montana Credit chip.(Was looking for the SP1271 but at this point Montana credit chip is OK) Am I getting this right? Really want the SS7102 which is the 95.039% highest payout chip and she is looking. SP1137 is OK instead of the SP1271?
    Thanks Wayne
