Title: Diferences between Aristocrat MkV and MkVI
Post by: JOC469 on April 27, 2010, 07:20:50 AM
I was wondering what are some of the major differences between Aristorcrat MkV and MkVI machines. I'm looking at getting a MkV machine (actually it is a series 2 MVP so it can be converted to mark 6) and was wondering if converting it to a mark 6 was something I should be doing? The seller currently has a mark 6 board & 5 Dragons game installed, but I am purchasing the machine as a MkV with Indian Dreaming. This is an AU machine if it helps.

Hi
The Australian Mk5 series 2 can be fitted with an (AU NZ)  Mk6 board.
The door switch logic has to be reversed. ( I use a two way changeover switch in series with the door switch so it is readily changeable so I can run both Mk 5 and Mk6 games. the speakers need to have resistors added to them as they are very loud in Mk6 mode
I believe NZ Boards are available for these machines
Cheers

Hi John,

Hope the Indian Dreaming is going well, Yes it is very easy as I told you when you purchased it, also you need to jump a couple of pins in a backplane connector to do with a cashbox error on pin 22 from memory, also your bill acceptor will not run as mk6 uses a different loo& sotware, email me & I can give you some data.

Cheers,
