hey guys and girls...this is a new one to me, but hopefully not to someone else

i am changing from 2 1/4 backlit reels to 2, both 5 reel, both using the xe359 bulbs

machine has worked great for 6 months with the 2 1/4 reels

swapped to the 2 inch reels and tray, using the existing wire harness that was used for the 2 1/4...after swapping and powering up, i noticed that the backlit lights do just the opposite of what they are supposed to do....burn bright when machine is at rest or not winning...dim flashing when showing winning spin....weird huh

altho i cannot do a physical check on the wire harness, the part numbers are the same as on a different harness *not in my house*

trying to narrow down a bad 2inch reel, i swapped a 2 1/4 out in each spot, starting with reel 5....no change, even the bigger reel was lit the opposite...working down to reel 1, that is when i saw the change...2 1/4 in reel 1 fixed the problem on all 5...they are working right...dim on rest or no win....flash bright on win

i swapped all 5 of the the 2 1/4 that were originally in machine, and all goes right back to reel 1

i do have a different light controller board coming, but wondering if there could be a different issue, as the controller is about the last thing left to swap

i am using the enhanced board in my machine, by key tronic...sb 927, sg 598, version 11gx1, and dspl0002

i will be away from my computer until late tonight, but any help or other suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

thanks in advance!!!

Hmm, I'm having weird backlighting issues with my 2 inch reels as well.  I'm wondering now if I have a bum reel in my set.  I never tried moving around the reel order to see if anything changes.  I'm going to try that when I get a chance.

i have switched out all 2inch reels with another reel, and swaped 5 of the 2 1/4 reels the same way, and all is revolving around an issue with reel 1...i am thinking and hoping that its the light controller board, and not something to do with my enhanced board...i should have my controller tomorrow, and be working on it in the evening

will keep everyone posted

thanks!!!

In my case it was blown bulbs and you cannot use incandescent reels with a led controller when using an enhanced board.  Works fine with a 50x board though.  Go figure.

This controller will work with incandescent or LED reels.

I could be wrong, But I don't think they made one for just the LED reels.
there is either one that only works only with incandescent (I assume that is the older style), or one that works with both.
(Picture of incandescent controller below)

The led controller has a black dual row connector on the right side of the board where the led haness plugs in.  The old style board has a single row connector in the same area.
