Title: Adding button #2 to MAME arcade machine
Post by: dross on April 15, 2011, 02:09:53 PM
I recently bought a used Mame arcade machine locally.   Works great.   It was designed for the older one button games.   It has one joystick with one button on either side, right and left handed.   The games on the main menu all work with one button, but the other menu has hundreds of games most of which you need a second button.  The installation of the buttons and the wiring are no problem.  It uses a Keywiz eco for controls.  All the wires coming off the Keywiz are labeled with a letter or number.   Is there a dedicated wire for button 2?   I can find little information online.

I don't have the keywiz, but if it's anything like the iPAC, it has default connections or can be programmed. There is some documentation here with the default connections usages and software downloads.

You should check with the fellas at KLOV.  They are experts in this arena and I've received a ton of help from them in this arena.

Actually, they don't do MAME and are pretty ugly at times about it.

There's a forum dedicated to those types of things: BYOAC...   http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/
