Title: RFA corrupt
Post by: cowboygames on September 23, 2011, 07:12:15 PM
Hi guys, I picked up that Bucks Ahoy game today and when I plugged it in it comes up with a message on the screen that says RFA is corrupt and I need to reboot. Of course, rebooting does nothing. Does anyone know what "RFA is corrupt" means. I wish it had come up with the checksum error the ebay ad said it did :89- Thanks for any and all help

The RFA file on the hard drive is corrupt.

Is that recoverable or will it need to be reprogrammed?

My experience is that you can't just copy files to the HD on a Reel Touch.  You have to clone the entire drive to correct the problem.

Unfortunately the only solution is to put your RFA disk to re install Windows and the game software (ATA and BGA)
If you have another ReelTouch machine and the same game then you can plug the hard disks in a computer and clone it from the good one.
If it is from a different game you 'll end up with type missmatch error and I do not know if you put only the game cd will work. Maybe it will.
But I think is more easy to reinstall RFA, it will take a half hour or so.
