I just recently turned on my 95 Bally 5500 and the coin hopper will not stop running in reverse. When i first turn it on nothing happens, the reels dont zero out or anything, and the screen doesnt display anything either. so when i turn it off the last (4th) led on the coin hopper dims out, if i then turn the machine back on the hopper turns on the reverse function and will not turn off. The hopper i have is the Bally xs 1200

i didnt know if maybe the reverse button on the hopper is broken or if the board itself is done for.

What happens if you pull the hopper out and turn the machine on?  Do you get any error codes?

Usually when you don't get any error codes or movement in the reels on a 5500 it's a power supply issue.   Do you have any other machines to test the power supply?  If not the board in the power supply that get replaced is not that expensive.

unfortunately this is my only slot machine so i do not have spare parts to swap in and out, i also did notice that the reset light does not come on when i power the machine up, i thought this had light up previously.

is there any way to test the power supply without having to swap out with a good working unit?

all four circuit breakers were not blown, and the fuse is still good within the power supply. It does appear that the capacitor inside the power supply is dead. whats the aproximate cost of a new power supply?
