Title: bally 6000 series - no display, 2 flashes per second?
Post by: 1975ranchero on March 03, 2012, 04:08:45 AM
hi , i have a bally proslot 6000 that i had a dead battery in (error code 8100), changed it, and did a reset using a set of clear eproms.
my issue is after the original eproms were put back in, i have all the lamps on the machine at a rate of what seems to be 2 times per second, and nothing on the displays.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you do a reset or A  clear?
You have to do a clear.
also make sure you put chips in the correct way

i did the saferam clear, (3 different times.) i had performed the complete clear, full clear, and the partial clear. it shows everything properly on the displays when the clears are happening, but when the main eproms are back in, the tower lamps and button lamps just all flash.

and i have checked the chips. they are in the right way, in their proper spots, with no bent legs.

I know you said no bend legs & in right.
It sound like @ some point either the chip was put in backwards & got corrupted or leg is bend.

i kinda though that, so i tried another set of chips i had (from when i converted it from an "in the money" theme to a "double jackpot diamond line") and had the same results. the lamps just all flash with nothing on the displays.

It still sounds like you have bad mains, since you said the ch c & cl c comes up when you perform a complete clear. make sure your U18 and U20 are in correctly also.  You should also check the board connector for bent pins.
