Title: Process for Double Double Vid Poker Conversion (upgrade)
Post by: ag21197 on November 23, 2009, 05:02:18 PM
I believe I have a superboard in my double double bonus poker machine based on the posted pictures. What would I have to do to get additional games like a multi-game or one that has blackjack etc. on it? Is it as simple as inserting new chips or is there additional configuaration that must take place. Where do i get such hardware?

Thanks in advance

Except for the special hardware requirements for Keno, you should be able to just swap out some chips.  You are usually dealing with the following:

4 Graphic Chips (MRO, MGO, MBO, MXO)
1 CAP Chip (CAPxxxx)
1 Program Chip
1 Data Chip

Those 7 chips make a complete set.  Some games share the same chip versions, so you won't always need to change all 7 when switching games.

Once you change a game, an error message "CALL ATTENDANT" related, will usually come on screen.  You usually just need to advance the jackpot reset and/or self-test button to reset to the new game.

A set chip will be required if you need to re-enable a bill validator.

To add to what Stolistic said, there are some chipsets that have multiple games on them, selected by the player using a menu and the five hold buttons.  A game like Blackjack cannot be part of a multi-game setup and must run on its own.  I'm not sure that Blackjack requires a Superboard, either (although any non-superboard game will still work on a superboard).

The IGT bible (http://newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%20Poker/Game%20Library%20-%20PE-Plus.htm) lists most of the poker games (including the multi-game sets) made for the PE+.  Once you have one (or more) game(s) in mind to purchase, you can try posting a WTB ("want to buy") request in the classifieds section, or contacting one of the vendors at the top of this page for assistance in purchasing your chips.
