I have a 320 Pickpocket, my friend has a 320 Big Cheese.  Both work fine but the music is interesting.  When the Pickpocket hits a bonus spin it says "the big cheese" and then plays the bonus music, etc.  But when the Big Cheese hits a bones it only plays a little introduction tune then the usual bonus music.  It seems the sound Eprom are incorrect.  I see there are 4 chips, U3, U4, U5, U6.  Does anyone know anything about these chips?

I'm not that knowledgeable about these, but I know that they use the same chips for several different themes. One sets the theme to match the glass and strips during the birthing process. I'm not certain if Pickpocket and Big Cheese are on the same chip set, but if so, you might just need to rebirth the machines and pick the correct themes.

Buzz should know. If he doesn't post here soon, you might send him a pm.

They're no different from the clear or set chips for S+ machines: if you own a CDS, having the birth chips for it becomes SOP. propeller

Paul is the person you need to talk to about CDS's  I can say that when it worked my Big Cheese did not say any thing. I do think you have the wrong sound chips in Pickpocket, they have a label on the chips telling you what game they are for.

David the sound chips are not on the MPU, they are mounted to another board next to the hopper and I don't think birth will change them. If I have learend anything about slot machines that I can pass on it would be DO NOT buy a CDS. If you do buy one also buy every spare MPU board you can get your hands on, your going to need them.  Crazy Crazy

Skipper we need a new smiley  one with a little guy smashing a slot with a BFH!!   Please Post Pictures

I had thought that you liked the reel CDS machines. I stand corrected.

I found the CDS the easiest to work on.  I agree with Buzz, it sounds like it's the wrong sound chips for it.  The board is on the left side, in my picture you can see it hanging on the wall.  Check the files and I bet you they say Big Cheese on them.

I'm thinking of making a trip over there soon to check them out.  Not the video ones though, bit he has had problems with them for a while now.

You were absolutely correct Ashyron.  My Pickpocket sound chips are labeled "Big Cheese" and some other numbers & letters too.  That would explain why a bonus round starts by saying "...Big Cheese ...press spin for your bonus" etc.   Now I wondering what a Pickpocket should say & if I can change it.  Birthing chips???  What can you change with Birthing chips?

The letters and numbers are probably the checksum numbers for that chip.  I can take a video of my Pick Pocket it you like so you can hear it.  Lemme know if you want me to do that.  Birth chips?  I wouldn't mess with it right now until you have problems with the machine (past the sounds).  It comtrols the type of game, demonination, max bet, time, date and all kinds of things like that.

Hay Ashyron, that would be cool- to hear how your Pickpocket sounds.   Also, can you list your chips and their check sum es?  These are mine:  U3,4,5,6 = F00D, F44D, 7977, 5BA5.   Obviously one of more of mine are gonna be incorrect.

You know  how long I had to stand there and hold the button on the camera in order to get this??   Cry Laughing Cry Laughing  I almost missed it too.  And to top it all off it was a cheap bonus round too.  I have the machine set for pennies so I don't have to keep loading it with credits so I got 100 pennies.   Tongue Out

Oh yeah, now that's what I'm talking about.   I gotta get mine fixed up.

I figured you were very persistant with the camera OR you have a very generous machine.

It is a little of both.  I have the machine set for highest payout and I think that's around 98% and I had the camera on a tripod with my finger on the button to start as soon as the reels hit.  I had about 12 videos of 2 or 3 seconds long cause it came just that close, LOL Duh!

If you watch cfh's and Bettor Slot's videos, you can see that what they do is to just let the video run on a tripod while they play and edit it later to include only the highlights. Of course, that necessitates the need for decent editing software. stir the pot / get cooking

Now where is the challenge in that?  Weird Eyes

I have another CDS sound question for you experts-  In the Configuration on my Pickpocket there are 6 sound categories:
GENERAL VOL
SECURITY VOL
WIN TUNE VOL
EFFECTS VOL
JACKPOT VOL
MUSIC VOL

Other that the my Security "alarm", everything else seems to be controlled with the General Volume setting.  Is that normal?
