Title: DBV-200 not working correctly
Post by: Mdpokersupply on September 09, 2009, 07:48:42 AM
Hi all,
I recently bought a DBV-200 from one of the vendors here and I've purchased a 200 model before with no problems, but this time when I installed the 200 into an IGT upright double diamond it doesn't work. The machine has the newer power supply. Basically, all that happens is that the validator will cycle about 6-7 times, doesn't initiate the stacker motor at all and then won't accept any money, not even take it in. I tried this unit in two different machines with the same result. It has the newer 2.60 (like the other unit I installed) and I was wondering if anyone has had any issues like this? I sent an email to the company telling them about the issue and I'm currently waiting for a reply. Yes, I did change the dipswitch settings for 022 and tried 023 as well, still the same. Another thing is that the bill acceptor lights on the outside of the machine don't light up either. All the dip switches are in the down position currently.
Thanks all,
Steve :103-

Did you use a set chip to enable the validator?

No, I shouldn't need to. The validator was set and working fine with the dbv-45ss, I take it out, put in the 200 and it doesn't work. I put the old one back in and everything works fine.

No light = no bill acceptance .... unless the bulbs are burnt out. Possible but not likely.

If you go into the S+ menu you should see if the Bill Validator is enabled or not. You can't change it from here but it should give you an indication of what the machine is thinking.
If it says disabled you would need to run a set chip through.

Secondly There are all sorts of harnesses and such on the bill head. I would simply unseat and reseat all of those connectors.

Thirdly you indicated you have bought other DBV200 heads - have you tried one of those to see if it lights up ?

Keep us posted on the status of this and how you make out with the dealer.

They are sending me another unit out tomorrow, we'll see how the new one makes out.

Sounds like a BV software (in the head) error, I've had this before, and with a new eprom it was fine.

If not I know a supplier that BENCH and GAME Test all BV's before they go out, therefore have no comebacks, they get $50 bucks for a DBV-200 SS Head, Upgraded, Cleaned, Calibrated and tested, but at least there is no question on what you get

Got the new validator in and it works great! I'm glad it wasn't something that I did wrong.
