Hi all, just got a s2000 vision machine. the game on it is run for your money. im trying to change it to slingo. i inserted the card in the monitor on top and took out the run for your money chip and replaced it with the slingo chip.
i left the gme 1 and 2 chip in. they are the SG000380. when i turn the machine on it just says system error and i cant clear it. do i have the wrong SG chip? HELP! thanks john

I think you need 248's or maybe 363"s. When you had system error did you open door and turn key? Then follow instructions. I think it's turning the key several times then holding reset button for 3 seconds then close the door

I'm more interested in seeing what the PCMCIA card has.
It needs to contain the ATA10031 and BGM00063 files.
The machines' MPU needs the correct SG chip pairs as well.
Correct me if I'm mistaken but I believe they were SG000046's?
The SB would be SB000229.

Get in touch with angryninjas...I think he has a similar software problem with his Slingo.
Maybe you guys can help each other out?

I had a simular problem. I'm sending him a different Version chip. That did it for me. He has a nasty New Jersey version with the 10 minute boot up.

You should get version chip Wednesday. It is 011GX0. I hope it works. Every game I have  with the 380's has 011GX1. You said your was something with the NX. I will start a thread about version chips later with all my SG, SB, VS. data. I know you don't want a SUPER SLOW New Jersey chip in it.

I have two NJ version chips on my list:
VS011NX4 (single denomination)
VS011NX5 (multi-denomination)

The VS011GX0 version chip you've sent to him is a single-denomination chip
and it can work but the VS011GX1 is a multi-denomination chip.
Isn't the Slingo Vision kit is a multi-denomination game?

According to the PSR SG000380, the 380's require the ATA10065 data on the PCMCIA card, "(or their replacements)"
Same thing goes for the SG000248's.
The PSR does NOT state what possibly replaces the ATA10065 files so I'm not certain that the ATA10031 files will work as they are older.
I'm suspecting that's where he's getting the [SYSTEM ERROR] message from?

I hope the Version chip swap works.

I'm attaching a copy of the PSR SG000380 to this post...>>>

Thanks for that PSR. I am still somewhat a novice and figuring things out as I go. I have 8 vision machines and have noted:

SG 380, 621,  have the VS011GX1 and the vfd shows the amount won in $$ Pink Panther Pick a panther, Fox n Hound, Ms. LGM 5 reel

SG 248, 159, 380, have the VS009GX0 and only show PLAY X in vfd.

Some of my machine were changed from S2K to Vision and needed the VS chip changed to work. Other were changed to have the $$ in VFD
Most were changed from New Jersey VS because it took 12 minutes to boot vs 2 minutes with other Version chip.

I have a bunch of VS011GX0 and don't know what they do or what they work in. ??

Have 2 fox n hounds 1 with 380 and 1 with 248 and have to have different VS to play
2 Pink Panthers pick a with 380 and P Buck with 248 also with different VS

It appears that the 248 prevents me from having the $$ in VFD as 11GX1 will not work with them. Can I change to 380? Is the 363 a universal SG?

Although they work for many games, I don't think the SG00363's work in a Vision game?   Scratch Head 3

So I assume the VS011GX0 are single denom. and display PLAY X and if I change the 248's to 380's I can use the VS011GX1 and display $$

Yes, requires a bit of work to switch all the hardware to a multi-denominational Touch screen behind the reel glass tho!
Some guys use the older displays with an extra panel button on the rightmost side of the deck.

If you go back to original chip for Run for your money, does it play? Since your getting System Error and it is not going to Mismatch to be able to turn the key. I found this by Buzz:

Install clear 97 ( you will see 2 led's ) AT this time do not install SB
install key 31 ( you will see on vfd "Netplex Link down"
Install SB chip ( with the main door open machine should go through boot up and check memory It will then give you a error, turn the key 4 times and VFD should say press test button for 3 seconds, then close main door, now will give one more error, open the main door and turn the key 4 more times. machine now should go into  key menu, ) if every thing is OK the first thing you will set is accounting. then coin denom, game selection, if your going to multi denom, and don't forget Machine Type. now your done in key Config. If you have a printer go to Con fig II 2nd option down and enable printer. YOUR DONE

For anyone interested, it was the Data Card for the vision monitor that was bad. John is playing Slingo again.
