I have a power issue with my machine I just purchased, it sometimes works.  It only has power to the florescent lights, no power on display to insert coin and coins played or anywhere on the red display windows,   I did have power and played it for a couple of days, then went back to play it again and had no power on the display window.  I opened the machine door and unplugged the 110v power from the power supply and reconnected it and got lights on the display window working.  I’m afraid one day I’m going to turn it on and the display will be dead again.  Is there anything that I could check or is the power supply going out?

Since the plug that goes from the wall AC current or surge protector and runs under the belly of slot through a 1-inch hole approx . I call them IBM CORDS -that feed the slot machine power supply get beat to shit from being on the bottom and the slot being moved side to side many times when its first installed where ever it may be ?
it could be just a bad cord ! >>>That is the weakest link to start from from <<<<AC POWER TO THE SLOT PWR SUPPLY .
Try another computer cord  which most people have at least a dozen from old home P C'S .see if that solves your intermittent power problem .  if it does cut the bad cord up at once .. and toss it before it gets put back in a pile of cords and the same issue happens again on another slot or computer . then while machine is off plug removed from power at the source of AC  current . pull out the fuses and test them one by one .. DONT EYE BALL THEM .that's a very poor way of doing a test because your not testing it .your just looking at the fuse and making a guess its good .
if its visibly burnt out then replace it make a magic marker spot in a certain color next to the blown fuse socket this is for reference purposes only . then check all connections your confident with to separate and reconcone ct .then last as i tell Even the best technicians including myself . take your digital camera and take several pictures of the components inside the slot before you do anything .. this is so if you forget or have any question in your mind  as to where a plug goes or a wire goes or a fuse goes .you can bring the picture back up on your computer and see what the entire slot  looked like before it was tampered with .. plus included with the picture taking i found it a marvelous way of seeing a broken wire that the naked eye would not normally see or a plug that is not connected etc . or something burnt or had arced out against ground on the steel cabinet inside . this little helper of using the camera works on everything i work on for the first time and not familiar with right down to the household clothes dryer etc .
hope this gives you a idea where to start ..

Thanks for your thoughts, I will take a look at the power cord but not sure that's it because the florescent lights always come on.  I did check fuses with a meter and all okay.  Could it be the power supply?

Then if you always have had power of some sort coming in and machine was playing fine. Then stopped. You opened door unplugged power cord. Then re plugged power cord and it worked fine I don't believe the power supply is bad at all. Most likely  a plug loose that opening closing door made it connect for awhile etc check all wires plugs as I mentioned with power off. unplugged seperate the plugs look for burnt pins or pins not fully inserted in plugs very common.if you do all this -meaning check all connections and the problem stops you found it in one of the steps you performed. Just look close for a bent or crimped wire that may be getting caught when door is closed.or a wire connector and wires not fully seated.if you start to pop fuses then you know you have bare or broken wire to ground somewhere.  Hope this helps you understand what to look for.
