Title: Thank you for free help
Post by: halestrm on December 09, 2009, 03:59:51 AM
I don't know what it would be, but I have been looking on ebay etc to try to find a thank you for someone who is coming to intro me to my machine (Addams Family Pinball) and teach me maint for free.  Is there a general service set that is freq used that would be a good TY?  He said something about rubber rings, wax, etc.  Would love to get some ideas.  Won't be able to buy it before this weekend, but even if it could be later, I would like to be able to show that I appreciate the help.

Posting here instead of pinball, because the pinball is what he is helping me with vs our poker machine.  I do not want him to notice the post.

THX

Some people use Mills wax, I prefer the novus #2. Any Carnuba wax is ok. Things that you need for a pinball are rubber sets, lightbulbs,(3 or 4 different types) some of the plastics are prone to breaking, Nice new shiny pinball balls set. Other things wear over time like flipper and solenoid bushings. A bottle of novus will last a couple of years, ball sets if you wax a lot,(And you should) last for years, Rubber sets are good for years,Light bulbs are always burning out. All parts are readily available but a lot are game specific

OK, I will look around for "general" ball sets, wax and other non-spec. items.  THX for the feedback.
