Title: My Cham II - III Modification
Post by: Magicslots on March 23, 2012, 08:27:18 PM
Since I had no luck in finding any new 5 reel game kits with progressive glass, and since the Cham III that I had bought had a bad logic board,
I needed a way to have a progressive on my S2K whenever I change out kits.  This is my solution.

I unplugged the logic board on the Cham 3 (it's toast anyway), and plugged the smaller LED display to my Cham2.  You have to reduce the
height of the display to ODMTR 7 so that the display shows the numbers correctly.

I obtained a new player tracking bar mount and cover from Jim at Blueridge Slots, and then knocked out the screw studs with a small punch,
and used a jigsaw with a metal blade and some round files to match the new hole to the LED display.  I cut and modified the cover plate the same way.
Then I cut a piece of thin plexiglass for a dustcover, mounted it with double-side sticky tape, and finally covered it with a piece of black rubber baseboard cover that was cut to fit.
It works like a charm, and next I am going to swap out kits....
