Title: Game maker Nightmare! Converting a bartop to an upright
Post by: AffordableSlots on January 02, 2011, 05:37:54 PM
:287-  I'm lost! I got an upright game maker cabinet that was gutted out except for the wires and power supply (I had something to start with anyway :89-) I got a backplane board and the mpu board from a working bartop... Now comes the nightmare.... The backplane didn't want to fit (At first) I did some moving around and altering of the cabinet. OK, done! Now I have an bartop monitor chassis I need to move into the the upright monitor chassis. (I have both a touch screen monitor from the bartop, and a upright non touchscreen monitor for the upright machine.) My nightmare continues when I discover that the monitor connections to the cabinet did'nt match. I was wondering if anyone could help me with rewiring the monitor to the plug I have. (I will Post Pics Soon)... My nightmare looks like it may be over after that...When I discover all these extra wire connectors that don't plug in to my backplane board. Ahh! are the backplanes different in a bartop? Help!?!? :103-

As the owner of a gamemaker bartop, for sure all the parts are different. When getting parts you have to specify a bartop other wise things are not wired the same or just do not fit! I llove my bartop but it is different then anything out there. I don;t even think the power supplies are the same for the bartop. Course mine had a little work done to it before I bought it so i could be wrong on that count.

yes, you are correct... the parts are different for the bartop. I got all the bartop parts (Including the power supply, and wire harnesses) So I know I can get this upright to work.... It just a matter of figuring out this wiring of the monitor and the correct wiring of the cabinet. I need the specks for the correct wiring for the monitor, that is what I am stuck on right now.
