I just got a Bally S6000 that had no main chips.  I bought all of the chips needed for the board, did a full ram clear, now when i turn it on the disclaimer message plays but nothing else happens.  The red light next to the reset buttons flashes.

After you cleared did you set it up?
You put chips in with notch correct way?
You do not have any bent legs on chips?
Do you have any codes?

Very careful with the chips, yes they were in the right way and no bent chips.  the clear ran fine just like the instructions that were sent to me.  it says after I put the mains back in the reels will go to position one.  that never happens and there are no codes anywhere.  the front display is all blank with the mains in.

Could it be possible that the U28 and U43 chips were labeled backwards and they are switched?  Can I switch them and try or could that mess them up

When you did the clear did you get the CL in display & hold buttons until deck light flashed?

If you got the CL & lights flashing on button panel then your clears should be OK.Next thing to look @ would be mains.
Your battery is good?

We are all human & make mistakes. If @ any point you had a chip in backwards it's finished. As I said we're all human. I've been working on these for several years & a few wks. ago was working on machine while talking to customer & I fried a set.

I do a lot of 6000's. My money is on bad mains, 99%. Get a new pair. If you got a good clear, the main would work if they were good. when you get the new ones do another clear first.

I was wondering the same thing if board was good would the clear work.  I also checked all switches and jumpers all are good.

If you don't have one, you should download an S6000 manual so you you can see all the dip sw. and 11d settings. If you get working mains you'll be able to set up your machine.
