Looking for the BR1 bridge rectifier for an E-series power supply board.  Manual says E-602-3 or V1248 - no hits on a google search - anyone know a modern day equivalent with the same footprint that will work?

Unfortunately I don't have a pic, the board is still in the machine and the BR is covered by a heat sink.  I can see the C1 cap is bulging, so I was going to replace it, as well as the C2 cap, Q1 voltage regulator, and BR1 rectifier while I was at it.  Found everything online except the BR.

No, but I figure it's worth replacing it while I have board out of the machine anyway.   It's 30 something years old and should only cost a few dollars to replace.

OK, just wondering as they're easy to check with a meter and they don't get weak with time, they're either good or bad

The BR1 is rated at 400V 8 amps (I think) You don't really need anything with this much voltage other than because that is what is there.
Check Radio Shacks website and do a search for bridge rectifier. The other problem is knowing the dimensions, these are about 0.6 inches square.
You can use something a bit bigger if you take care to insert slowly and then use the screw with heat sink to make it flush with the board.
