I have a Bally 6000 which I am told worked a few months ago.
When I first turned it on it had a code 81 (low battery).
I installed a battery where I then got garbage on the display.
I disconnected the battery and the slot no longer gives the 81 code.
It isn't giving any error codes to help me troubleshoot it.
The only indication that may help is the red LED on the MPU that flashes.
It flashes at about 1 blink per second.
It goes solid when I press the MPU reset button and then resumes the 1 blink a second.
On power up nothing ever displays on the front door displays and the wheels and components do not reset or move.
Nothing happens when I press the test button on the MPU.
I checked for bent pins on the MPU and had a look inside and can't see anything obviously wrong.
Do any of you have any ideas what I should look at next?
Your help would be appreciated.

For starters you must have a battery installed. Check all the chips are facing in the right direction. MPU could be bad also.

 After you replace the battery
you will need to reset the machine.
Is it a video machine?
I haven't worked on the 6000 so I
Don't know the way to reset it.
Here is where you can get the manual
that will have the procedure to reset it.

That is one reason I have pickup only. I want people to play before they buy.
Hawk, you should put in your profile where you are located. Maybe someone is close that can help.

Thanks guys.
Your responses got me to check more and found I had a bent pin on one of the EPROMS I put back in.
I did the complete ram clear and it worked.
The slot recalibrated after I put the original EPROMs back in.
I now have 01.01 on the win paid display.
I got the Bally manual and very happy to have it, it will be very helpful.
My search on 01.01 gives nothing.
Do you guys have any ideas what I need to do next?

Guys, the manual doesn't describe what 01.01 is in the win paid window nor does Google trigger but after reading the section of the document for installation, I realized it is waiting for the date and time to be entered.
The manual describes using the buttons SPIN and BET MAX to change settings.
Use the CHANGE button when it is all entered.
The problem is now solved and the slot working wonderfully.
The manual was the best thing to have.
Thank you so much.
