hello my pro slot 6000 blazing 7s is showing error code 71 and i cannot get it to work first i put a bill in and it showed a code of 55  ..4   41 then i fixed 55 then 41 went to 40 which is when another post on your site said to hit the test button until a certain code came up and when that happened now the error code is 71  please help me fix this as i am not savy enough to figure it out on my own. thanks Terry

The 40 code along with the others suggests that you have something physically wrong with reel #1. You might try blowing the reel optics clean with compressed air. Also make sure that the connections are solid at both ends of the harness that goes from the reel to the backplane board. (Do not make or break connections with the power on -- turn the machine OFF.) If you have another known good reel that you can substitute, I would try that.

You can also try swapping reels one and two. If the problem is with the reel, you should get codes 42, 40, & 72. If the problem is with the harness or on the MPU board, the codes would still be 41. 40, & 71.

thanks for the reply, Stat. i will check what you said to do with the guy who sold it to me. i finally got ahold of him and he is going to look it over and fix. i will let you know how it turns out ,again,thanks for the quick reply.
