Have a Bally S-6000 Blazing 7's 5cm1L w/ dual progressive display (cham II+) and hopperless (ticket out only).

EVERYTHING is working perfectly except for cashing out.  After a SafeRAM clear and reprogramming, the game plays fine and cashes out just fine.  Tickets are printed perfectly.

However, if I leave the machine sit for a bit then go back and play and cash out, the machine goes to hand pay and says (mostly), "Congrats, you are a 7's progressive winner! blah blah blah", rings the bell, and locks up....

Any thoughts?

I've never seen a stand-alone Bally S6000 that would cash out more than one ticket, ever.  The first cashout ticket after a clear works fine, but if you then put in another dollar and try to cash out, the machine locks up in a handpay.

I can't speak to the machine announcing that you've won a progressive, but I suspect the primary issue is that I don't think it's possible to have an S6000 that constantly cashes out tickets (save for a casino environment where it's hooked up to a TITO system).  I'd like to be wrong on this, though, as I'd love to know what chips to put in mine to make that happen...

Great info, guys.  I said I was hoping to be wrong about it, and I'm glad I was!  K+ to both of you.

I'd also venture to guess that Karsten is using chips that exhibit the behavior I've seen before -- where the first ticket works, but future cashout attempts result in a handpay condition.

However, like Fordsbs, I'm not sure if it will work with progressives...and WWG had a double progressive installed.
I know for fact I've never tried it or looked at the set up sheet to see if it does.
got a little burned out and stayed away from progressives after last winter...lol

Yes, the original credit should go to Bettor Slots as the 6000 that Stout has in question came from him and yes he told me about the 2003 mains.

Sorry guys - got swamped with holiday repairs!

Yes, it was the Mains version.  Changing fixed the problem.

The odd part was I also had to switch it off of an Ithaca 850 ticket printer and back to the PSA-66 as well.  The mains that were in it are ones I had never used before (nor have I used anything other than an original PSA-66).

It also printed more than one ticket if you kept playing immediately after the first cashout.  It was when the machine was left to sit for more than a couple minutes that it would start misbehaving.

Never did figure out why it kept sending the progressive win signal to the Mikohn upon cashout with the older Mains and printer - that went away after the switch...

Good to hear that took care of it.
Ithaca printers always give me a problem.
