helllo i have a 1999 ballys black and white double jackpot machine after leaving it idle for about 30 mins the machine started to beep i went to take a look at it and notcie it had 8.0. where it said win paid and a 0 where it said credit. i tried to open the door to hit the reset button and after i hit the reset button all the lights started to flash and the number on the front disappeared. so now the machine is locked up and the lights are all flashin. any ideas?

Could be any number of things at this point.  Did you try a power off and restart?  Get a code 80 again after restart?  80 usually means a bad main chip.  What is the year listed on your mains (U3 & U4 and U12 & U15).  Might be able to do a RAM clear with just a jumper if you have the right mains.  Are the reels energized?  Is the diplay lit up at all (i.e any digits anywhere)?  Let's see how you answer these questions and go from there.

yes i turn the power on then off the lights still flash. i left the unit unplugged for about 6 hours and then when i plugged it back in i got the 8.0. code agian. when you open the door the 8.0. code goes away and the lights start to flash. i am new to the whole slot machine thing. i pulled the board and look at u2 on my board there is no chip there u3 says np9736sr mn74hc273n  and u14 & 15 say hnn9906 c2161me on my u28 and u43 say 2006. the reels are energized the bill thing is light up. when you open the door you hear a noise like a heart beat sounds weird i know.

My apologies.  From the topic category I saw bally 5500 so thought you had a S5500 pro slot (One of my favorites).  Looks like you have an S6000 pro slot.  Never mind about the possibility of jumpering to clear RAM since can only do that on the S5500.  The 6000 can be a little bit more tricky.  The mains on it are located at U28 & U43.  However, lets focus more on the so called 'Heartbeat".  Sounds like you may have a power supply going out.  See if you can determine if the sound is coming from the power supply.  Feel free to give me a call at 801-450-9181 as I can probaby better help you better over the phone.

I will look at this more later.  This thread will be moved to spinning reel slots since it's no a video slot.
