Title: Peppermill Casino Reno fined $1 million
Post by: uniman on February 15, 2014, 12:33:22 PM
The Peppermill was fined $1 mil for sending a slot tech to their competitor casinos to access machine info using the 2341 key. Interesting the article mentions the keys are available on eBay. Wonder if demand for keys goes up?  :72-

Wow.  They were using it to try and find out what the competition was paying out so they could compare it to their own payouts.  Sneaky.

Wow....good find Jay. Very interesting. What was management thinking?  :103- That the guy would take the hit as an individual if he got caught?

Even more interesting than the article though, did you read the comments though? The general public still think that odds can be changed with just a flick of a key!  :30- :30-

Many of the reader comments are pretty cringe-worthy.

But, how about the houtzpta to walk into different casinos and quickly read the meters and get out.  Must have been paying the guy some big $$$$$.  And talk about the random chance of catching the guy as well.
