Title: EPROM fast enough?
Post by: dpalmi on November 07, 2008, 05:39:10 PM
Hello all!

I'm looking to buy some kits for my S2000 machine and I want to make sure the included chips will be fast enough to use in my machine.  The EPROMS are labeld AM27C64 - can anyone tell me the speed of these chips and if they will be fast enough??  I think for a S2000 they have to be faster than 120ns....

Thanks!

If you are using S+ kits in the S2000 then 120ns or faster 27C64 chips ware required.  What other numbers are below the AM27C64, maybe a -12, -15 or -20?  the 12 means 120ns, 15 means 150 ns, etc.

One says -150DC and the other says -200DC - does this help?  Does that mean 150 ns and 200 ns?

Yes, you have that correct.  Those chips won't work in an S2000.

Hello Jim,

Yes - but I don't currently own a burner...but I've run across this before and it seems I'm just going to have to buy one.
