Title: multi-denomination setup
Post by: rjpohl on November 12, 2008, 10:45:02 PM
I'm trying to understand how to set up the multi denomination touch pad.  I have the slot machine set as 1 credit = .25.  The touch pad has .25 in the top left corner and in the bottom left corner (I think this is Key 1 and 3), this 2 are lite up.  The top right and bottom right have are  marked .50 but do not light up.

I guess I need to use the key 17 to change these settings?

Any advise on setting up??

thanks
Bob

Yes, you need to use the Key chip to set it up.  Each game has to be set up with a denomination and with each part of the touch pad.  The setup is rather aukward at best.  You can't set the touch pad up until you set the game and denom up and then assign it to the respective part of the pad.

do I have to set up 1 game for one denomination (.25) and a 2nd denomination (.50) for another?  If so how do you set 2 different games on one machine.  It may be a day or so before I get back on it, I'll let you know how I did.

You have to pick a payback percentage for each denomination.
Your base chip has 5 or so different payback percentages available to you.
I think you can use the same payback percentage for all denominaton if you like.
Casino's usually don't though.

Let's not get him confused.  Game is the same as percentage.  You select the denomination and then select the game to go with each under 7.1.2.  Then in 7.1.1.3 you pick the player denomination available for each player.  Use 7.1.1.4 to select the denomination for each part of the touch panel.  Player 1 is the top left, 2 is top right 3 is bottom left, and 4 is bottom right.  You can  use the same game (percentage) for each denomination.

I had this machine set up to accept quarters but I think I'll have to make it coinless because of the multi denomination pad.  Is this true??

Nope, whatever your lowest amount denomination is the base denomination.  So, let's say your base is 25 cents and the next one is 50 cents.  If you select 50 cents on your touch panel you will need to insert 2 quarters to get one credit on the display. If you selected $1 you need to insert 4 quarters to get one credit on the display.  It's that simple.  My advice is just insert bills to get credits when using multi-denom but you can still cash out in quarters if the machine is set to quarters as the lowest denomination or tokens for that matter.

You can also go the token route to add credits.   On some games or OS you can tokenize as well (put it 1 token get $100 in credits) which is much simpler then using bills.  This would include when using the MD setup.
