OK folks,
I went ahead and ordered the 17" direct LCD replacment screen.   Very simple install and comes with a new bezel as the screen is larger then the original ones. 

Here are some snap shots of the install.   - I changed to another cabinet mid stream but you get the point. 

Came from Wells-Gardner direct via AG&E

The monitor was MFG Jan 2007!

No not all, but most do.   The bezel needs to be changed anyway so it's much simpler and nicer to hang it on the door.  Also give more room inside. 

I have an LCD in my I+ as well and that does not hang on the door, but I have seen 2 types (one that does and one that does not)
