Is there not a way to disable progressives via the settings options?

Not that I have figured out. Without having the progressive it disables the game.

Yes, I agree...
The MPU is searching for the progressive stuff...
without finding it hooked up - the game doesn't play.
You may not be able to disable the "Search" for the progressive
unit as it could be hard written into the software.
I could be wrong on this as I do not own a BB.
I'm speaking from the knowledge I've been learning about IGT's S2000
Netplex system which "searches" for attached peripherals...
Much in the way a desktop "searches" for the proper driver when you
plug in a something new like a wireless mouse perhaps.
Probably the best thing to do is get the progressive unit for it I guess...

I do have a WMS BBU progressive display, but missing the cable that goes from it to the MPU or topbox at this this time. I can pull it out and take pictures of it. It has a CF card in it for the Wizard of Oz game in it.Will photos/numbers of the display help you?

That would be awesome. That is the game i am trying to get up.  If you could also take a pic of the board the cf card is in and the progressive. That would be a huge help. If you need anything just let me know

You cannot run WMS progressive games without validation from the server.  All WMS progressives are TCP/IP based and must connect to a gateway.  A lot of these progressive are WAN's and thus need to connect to WMS's servers.  I don't believe you will be able to run your software stand-alone unless you can get a WAN "emulator" to validate the progressive game.  Even local progressive needs an progressive infraestructure, (which can be purchased from WMS for casino use).
