Do some of the early SB chips not activate the backlit reels Scratch Head?  Like SB100003  or SB100004 for Titanic. I do not have Titanic backlit strips, but I noticed the reels are not lighting on the wins, they are glowing dim like they are suppose to do.  Anybody know  Scratch Head Scratch Head

The data or code that activates the back lit controller is missing from those SB chips.

haha! I peeked at this thread earlier but I'll tell you what - I have no clue because I've NEVER seen a Titanic game anywhere.
I don't know if there were ever back lit strips made for those and I even peeked at an SB00004 chip
but you think I understand the gibberish they program into it?  rotflmao

If you could compare a backlit chip to an SB chip - maybe you could add the backlit code to the chip?
Personally I'd like to add a Haywire or Free Spin action to all of my games... Tongue Out
What SG's are you using?

I've never seen a backlit titanic game on the casino floor. I'm sure it's a clone of another game tho', IGT doesn't make new themes anymore, just clones old ones.

Well, the SG chips aren't special.
So...you have to re-write the data code and add backlighting to it.
Simple right?

I do not think Titanic was a clone of something else, it was SB100003 and 4, had it's own dedicated sound chip, not a generic 42. But I could be wrong.

Titanic is non-back lit and as far as I know as stated before have never seen one backlit.  This was a very early S-2000 release that lived a short life due to "conflicts".  Thanks B.

Was just a simple question...Were there early SB chips that do not support backlit reels....Answer is YES...End of discussion and thank you all for the input. Was not trying to get into a debate over what games came in back lit or non-backlit versions.

okay...I didn't know.   rotflmao

One thing for sure, I'd throw a little weight into Stroke's take on it because he's probably seen more S2000's than I.

My guess is that the backlighting is fine.
Just throw in an MPU loaded up with some other newer 3 reel games like DD or something like Cigars.
How do you like the Titanic?
Kinda matches the present news of late.
