PLEASE don't get upset.....
But those prices are WAY TOO HIGH.
The public might go for them...but the collectors here wont.
I can buy the 3 reel machines "Parts complete" but dusty for $100 each
Dotmations were cool machines, but impossible to find a decent display now, lower supply is a collectible
The Smegma's were never popular (weird because they looked cool)
Your best bet is Craigslist/KSL/Recycler...
Just my 2 cents....

Gotta agree with Kirk...  The Williams machines would be good at $400 each; but S+ 's  and Sigma's  aren't worth half of that.   We get several dealers who , from time to time, sell lots of 4  S2000's at  $200 each...  That's a good deal.     10 S+'s for $4000 is going to be laughed at....

Title: Re: WTS SLOT Machines (WILLIAMS, IGT S+, SIGMA)

Id be happy to buy 5 igt s+, 3sigmas, and 2 williams machines in almost mint condition, every light works, every nill validator pary, and. Not am error on it for 2000.00 anytime.    I understand that a dusty, broken down machine full of player card parts, possible worn parts on DBV', s, optical eyes may benot workimg perfectly and batteries. R dead and. Guaranteed a day or two days working on em tp get em tp the conditionI have nine, are worthonly 200.00 ea. To someonei believe theu r giving theor time/work hours awayfor almoat nothing....

I appreciate the BRUTAL HONESTY (I have worked hard on these to make em look as good as they can be.), I gotta get these sold, and like I said, any dealer/collector here may contact me and maybe we can work something out)... I am watching the PRICES PEOPLE ARE PAYING ON THIS SITE FOR JUST A PIECE OF GLASS ON MACHINES I OWN, AND ADD A HOPPER, A DBV 200 WITH FINAL UPGRADE ON MOST OF THEM, PLUS THE GREAT SHAPE THEY ARE IN, AND I RESPECT YOU SAYING THIS LOWBALL AMOUNT, AND I AM WILLING TO BUY THE SAME DEAL FROM SOMEONE IN SAME QUALITY FOR 2000.00)

I know that it probably takes me 2-3x longer to get a machine from dust n dead battery with player card junk to pristine shape and ready to rock n roll, (its why I am putting this pictures out of them as they become or are already ready to show that these are REALLY WELL REFURBISHED AND 100% WORKING), I feel 400 a machine INCLUDING SIGMA's AND WILLIAM'S are worth it...  And you guy's are right, this ISNT THE PLACE to GET 1000.00 for a WILLIAM's machine like I have all summer and 800 for IGT S+ delivered, but that's why I bought them.  FIRST, to LEARN how to FIX EM and how they work, 2nd, TO PAY FOR 6-8 of em for MYSELF, AND THE REST TO PAY BACK MY INVESTOR (which I owe about 25.00 each left on each machine from what I have paid +10% interest I OFFERED TO PAY HIM (he wanted only 3-5, but I believe in taking care of people n they will take care of me if ever need be)..

I hope that those of you that are interested in machines here do see that 400.00 a machine for an IGT S+ is an awesome deal, and that your comment doesnt hurt what I am hoping to do with my "NLG CLASSIFIED AD"... If, I am overstepping my bounds on how I am doing this ad, please tell me... I feel I AM INDEBTED TO THIS FORUM for the HOURS AND HOURS YOU HAVE SAVED ME AS I WAS LEARNING AND STILL TROUBLE SHOOTING PROBLEMS I CANT SEEM TO FIGURE OUT...  I see IGT S+ machines from online stores from 499.99-1299.99 on average in months of OCT-DEC.... (learned real fast when to "up those prices"); and I also understand alot of you own stores and have large overheads and employees while I don't and understand why things are priced the way they are...  If anyone wants to shoot me a PRIVATE TEXT and make a "DEALER OFFER" on ALL 100% WORKING, NO LIGHTS OUT, NO SOUNDS OUT, NO ERRORS, HARDLY ANY WARE N TEAR, AND CLEAN AS I CAN GET EM, Id be honored...)

It was hard to read that MY MACHINES ARE WORTH ONLY 200.00 each after the hours I have put in em, and the price of renting a truck to move 78 machines 400 miles+ from St GEORGE to SANDY UT....  And to pay someone for labor "help"....  My price per machine is well over 200 each... And it sucks to learn I could buy em all done for 200 each??? I hope you dont take offense for how I worded what I did hear; I wasnt offended by 200 each for the mixed types of machines, but more BUMMED OUT, AND WOULDDA BEEN HELLA EASY JUST TO PAY 200 EACH GOTO ANY STATE LEGAL TO BUY EM, PICK UP 80 OF EM AND SELL EM UP HERE FOR 800-1200 EACH, AND HAVE MY MONEY BACK AFTER JUST APPX 20 SALES...  I sold my first machine (I didnt know any better and it included a BIG BIG TIP for 1600.00 for a Jackpot Party)....  I  just need to move 30 of these quickly and can let em all go for a much better price than that IF I DONT HAVE TO SPEND 8-16 hours getting to look and owrk brand new....)

Most dealers wont go back past a S2000, the S+ are stripped for what parts are useable and the rest of the carcass is tossed in the recycle bin.
They are simply too much trouble to deal with and to sell to the public.Once you get a front rechromed, a case reskinned your profit is gone.
Doesn't mean you can't take a few machines and make a "Cream Puff" from the group.
The "Dotmation" 40S5 series machines (they preceded the 401's) were cutting edge for their time.Sell one and have the DMD Display go bad..it can cost you over $100 for a USED one...no new ones available.Lower power supplies are hard to find, reel baskets become brittle, none available.
Your machines might actually be worth more as parts.....sad as that is....

I JUST CANT SEE BREAKING DOWN A PERFECTLY WORKING MACHINE FOR PARTS... I recognize though a IGT S+ machine parted out can be worth well over a grand easy......  ITS FINDING SOMEONE WHO NEEDS EVERY PART.....

This is BREAKING MY HEART.... (Thank GOD I have sold 40 of the 78 at 800+ before I ever read this)... I do see dealers all over the place online selling em for 499.99 on up though.... So people are buying em....  I so so respect what you are saying, and maybe I was lucky to make a bunch of money, but I have had 1 service call since March (all were guaranteed), and that was broken because a wire got stuck on a bill can being pulled out directly below the BVD......)

And why didnt the SIGMA's TAKE OFF????  WEIRD

KSL HAS BEEN A GODSEND.... And my prices have not been the lowest on that site, but alot of people RESPECTED the quality of work they said compared to others and the knowledge of what ever I seemed to have learned (MOST OF IT HERE ON THIS SITE AND/OR BY TRIAL N ERROR and the IGT S+ FIELD MANUAL, WMS 40-X Manual, and the Sigma Manuals...

I do want to thank all you guys for all the info I have learned about this stuff from here!!!

Let me know where you find buyers for machines at $800 we must be doing something wrong… try buying 1000 machines and literally trashing 500 of them for parts and scrap. These machines are old… and the support can be the most frustrating and time consuming process. Most likely you won't sell those machines on this forum… most members are knowledge and realize they're buying a headache if they buy the williams… most would rather pay the $400$600 for a newer s2000

Cut your losses and call it a day

PS let me know where you find the home buyers paying $800 for an S+ and ill start doing business with ya

In Utah... I REALLY AM NOT TRYING TO START an argument or anything here... I feel like I am coming across COMPLETELY WRONG the way you guys are reacting....  I paid 800 for my 1st machine EVER a BALLY'S Wild Diamonds or something like that (it had where you could get 4 diamonds 1 on 1st reel, 2 on 2nd reel, one being above line one below, and then 1 on the third and that was the jackpot.....  That was 2 or 3 years ago...  I guess I got taken for a ride when I paid what I paid from someone for 78 machines because I am into em more than 200 thats for sure... But I am not making up what I have sold my machines for... But this is PROBABLY WHY I STILL HAVE 38 of 78 machines after trying to sell these since MARCH...  I RESPECT ALL OF YOU GUYS...  I looked on the internet before buying what I bought and saw prices from 500-1000 for IGT S+ (depending if OCT-Dec, or the rest of the year)...  I paid the same price for every machine let it be Williams, SIgma, or IGT S+..  I KNEW NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT FIXING EM, REPAIRING EM, NOTHING.  I have electrical engineering schooling from Michigan but dropped out knowing SALES, STCOKS, GAMBLING is what I wanted to do with my life...  I have run my ads listing my machines from 800-1200 for my machines and sold some in APril and May...  Other ads on KSL had machines listed much much higher than I did.  But then all the sudden some ads came along and lowered the price down to 500-700, but they were beat up, problems, etc etc...  So I made sure I had good, clear, pictures, and I did the best I could to make em look brand spankin new if possible....

and all YEAR, and especially NOV. and DEC., was there a problem get 650-800 a machine... Now I feel like I have taken advantage of people the way you said this....  I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL...  I TRADE STOCKS AND HANDICAP SPORTS for a living... I did this as a :GAMBLE/HOBBY....  I just want to get rid of the rest of these as quickly as possible, but I am in the black after selling just 30% of my inventory....  I have looked online and the same machines I have other "PROFESSIONAL BUSINESSES" are selling IGT S+ machines for 599, 699 etc etc.... I feel like I am being attacked for listing em here....  What did I do wrong or do to upset everyone... I LOVE this board and have been LEARNING so much....

Please, understand, I am NOT A BIG PLAYA in this world; just someone who wanted to try a new hobby besides fly fishing n gambling hobbies, and make some money along the way.....  I didnt mean to upset ya, but I dont understand why I wouldnt fix/clean the rest of what I have.  They all need a battery change, player's card shit taken out, and a polishing...  Maybe a wire been cut by the door n has to be re-soldered...  I worked hard on these, and I not sure why you dont think you can get 600-800...  The WIlliams machines are the one's I ask 1200 for (people always knock em down)... The 2000.00 one was a trade of coins for the Jackpot Party machine and I went n got the coin graded knowing I could get over 1500.00 easy on EBAY for it and happened to get almost 2k....

If I sold the MACHINES, DUSTY, NOT WORKING, AND AS IS, I would probably charge 300 each, WITH NO GUAR... EXCEPT THAT ALL THE PARTS ARE IN THERE... But, that takes the "hobby" part of it away from me....  I like doing the work and making em look awesome, and people offer what they offer....  With SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL going on, I lent 2 machines to a party 2 different nights and all 4 machines were sold the next day after people played em and did whatever home amusement they did with em.  2800.00/4 IGT S+ Qtr machines with DBV 200 V 2.50-05, and everyone is happy... I delivered em, set em up, gave em my #, and will be back anytime they need me to fix anything besides lights or normal wear and tear or user abuse for a year... (Hopefully I can troubleshoot over the phone), but I will do my best..

I guess the IGT S+ machines are not "respected" or something, but I guess listing my machines here INSULTED some of you at the prices I put out... AND FOR THAT I AM SORRY....  But, look out on the net, people are PAYING 600-800 for IGT S+ running and looking brand new... FOR SURE.... In Utah for sure... I will stop wasting your guy's time continuing to post these pictures here on what I THOUGHT WAS A STEAL OF A DEAL; I guess to the RETAIL WORLD it is, and I AM SORRY... I didnt mean to hurt anyone's feelings or piss people off...  I know every machine I have sold my customer is happy and I have had two return customers who bought again IGT S+....

So, "Ill cut my losses and call it a day" for loss of time posting this thread....  I definitely feel I undermined you somehow which was never meant, and  Im not gonna get in an argument over what one person sells a mint IGT S+ compared to another guy, BUT I bought 78 machines and got 2 broken sigmas thrown in for free....  IF I HAVE TO THROW AWAY MORE THAN 5 WHEN I AM DONE BECAUSE OF DAMAGING EM OR JUST USING TOO MANY PARTS FROM ONE TO MAKE IT PROFITABLE, I WILL BE QUITE UPSET AND SURPRISED...  These machines are tough as hell IMO...  Think of all the drunk gamblers who have kicked em, punched em, thrwon up on em, etc etc, and they still work after just a few adjustments and a new battery....

These were stored and taken care of from the moment they came off of the casino floor in 1999 or 2000....  Covered up, in dry air of St George Utah, and I AM HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE, even if I paid probably twice what everyone else does, but I was told every single one but the two broken ones would work with a battery and a few "fix its", which I learned fast were loose or cut wires, fuses, and errors;  The machines are all 1996, 1997 for SIGMA, or 1999 for WILLIAMS (and there 3 are IGT S+ Super Stars n Triple Play which are 1993)....  And I guess I paid way more than you did where you can trash 500 of 1000 of your inventory, and still sell em for 200 or 300; but I looked at your ad on em and they are "as is", no guarantee.  Thats why I am asking what I am because I have put 5-20 hours into each making em as good as I can make em.

Again, I am sorry I pissed you off.... And there are people ALL over the world paying 800.00 for IGT S+ machines before Christmas... I was told I could add 1-300 a machine during OCT-Dec for Christmas... That people want convenience, FREE DELIVERY TO DOOR, PERSONABLE KNOWLEDGE, AND THE CUSTOMER HAPPY AS HELL AS I LEAVE AND THEY ALL KNOW IF THEY CALL ME, I WILL ANSWER AND COME AND HELP FIX IT... AND IF I CANT, I WILL ASK FOR HELP AND THEN FIX IT...  I have sold only 40 machines so far, but I paid back my investor, and all these machines left, are almost totally paid for....

And I guess I am INSULTING PEOPLE IF KARMA STORMS IN THE NEGATIVE MEAN THUMBS DOWN, SOMEONE TELL ME WTF I AM DOING TO UPSET YOU GUYS....  CUZ I WAS REALLY ENJOYING IT ALL TIL LAST TWO DAYS WHEN I FIND OUT I AM "OVERCHARGING".... I guess dealer prices, yes...

Maybe we should just pull this whole thread down...

ANd you can make 1200.00 on a Williams Machine in mint condition working 100%... Ive done 3 times, and once on that beautiful trade for coins....

Well.....I can't/won't speak for anyone but myself....
But here is my "Take" on this.
No one here is knocking you or hating you, or even disliking YOU for any of this really.
People here buy WHOLESALE and some resell at "Street Value".Some are Junkers, some are "parts complete"..others are in very nice shape.
Most of the time they are DEEPLY discounted as it's a large quantity.I have bought MANY machines for $100 each "Parts Complete", cleaned them up and sold them for $499.I have sold them on Ebay and Craigslist and to friends of friends.Making a quick HONEST $399 for some elbow grease, a few light bulbs and a battery is a sweet deal. Thats why I said keep listing them on KSL. It's a GREAT idea, i was not being a wise-guy.I am a hobbyist, not a retailer or investor.
No one really knows how much YOU have into a machine, so telling you what to sell YOURS for is not a easy thing to do.If you live in a city where machines are popular, then used ones are as cheap as well worn taxicabs. Some vendors here in Vegas will sell a lot, just to regain the space in the warehouse for the next batch coming in! The comments are constructive, a indicator of the prices of the industry/hobby. Street prices will always be higher.

Thank you....  And I THINK I MADE A MISTAKE RUNNING AN AD HERE AT ALL... BECAUSE I AM GETTING WHAT I AM GETTING "RETAIL" FOR MY ELBOW GREASE, TIME, AND THE FRUSTRATING MOMENTS OF TROUBLESHOOTING A DAMN COMMUNICATION PROBLEM ON A WILLIAMS DOT MATRIX BOX.... (STILL DOING THAT)...

I just don't want people to think I am one, trying to rip people off, because I DEFINITELY THINK I AM IN THE BALL PARK ACCEPTING 800, IN SLC and am always willing to work on Best Offer...  So when I offered this "10 pack special" I HONEST TO GOD, THOUGHT I WAS GIVING  DEALERS A GOOD DEAL TO PEOPLE ON THIS SITE.... I GUESS NOT...  I can see where people who spend thousands and thousands on overhead, staff, trucks, and all that chit (I had to rent a truck to load em by hand and drive em up 500 miles myself), it would cost them a pretty penny just to keep the lights on and NEED TO FIND DEALS FOR 100 A MACHINE....

I just think I shouldnt have advertised machines here at all....  Because for me to sell em for 200.00 after 10+ hours work would be ridiculous for me or anyone else just for the time to do it all...  I understand buying a pile of machines by the pallet for 100 or less a machine and some will work after alot of work and trouble and some must be parted...  But my hobby would be over as fast as it had started amd I would never have a chance in hell of BUYING 6-8 machines and have it OK'd by my wife... But if I bought the 78, sold a bunch and made some money at the end, sure I can keep 6-8...  And it has worked....

So, I am NOT GONNA POST THE REST OF THE PICTURES OF MY MACHINES, BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO ADVERTISE EVEN A GREAT RETAIL PRICE; I apologize for getting people upset or disgruntled... I was/am EXCITED AS HELL that this "hobby" would be awesome and it has been....  I was really excited (I'm sure that showed in the ad and the pictures until I was reminded I AM ON A DEALER/SUPPLIER forum, and  that kinda woke me up to smell the coffee, GREAT AD n DEAL in RETAIL LAND, WRONG VENUE....

I've been following this post and yeah it got a bit crazy.  I think a big part of all this is availability of machines and desire to own them.  400 for S+, well if its a machine I've been looking for and its hard to find then thats probably a good price.  Those machines while they are work horses they are older and parts are getting harder to find.  Most of the folks on this forum are avid collectors and/or people in the industry and are used to buying at very discounted prices.  Sounds like you have some nice machines but they are older or "at least to this group" of a less desirable nature based on price.  I found nothing offending about your posts, some of the replies may have been a bit edgy and maybe a bit more blunt than necessary but hey, you are trying to get what is a fair price for your investment as well as your time, nothing wrong with that, good old capitalism and if you find folks willing to pay the price you are asking then more power to you.  Those little grandmothers out there that love the Wild Cherry machine, they don't care if its S+ or S2000, they know its what they like to play so for them 800 bucks might be a great price.  To the guy that bought one yesterday for $100 bucks, your price is a bit high.  I think we all appreciate your enthusiasm for the hobby and in your case, side job, so don't let one bad post keep you from participating in the forums.  I know there is a machine listed on here right now for $2500 that I would give my left .... for but I can't afford that and I do think at some point I'll be able to find one that I can afford.  The machine I'm looking for is hard to find as I have learned so that price is probably somewhat warranted, but I don't hold any resentment for him asking that amount for it.  I like you have learned a great deal from the good folks here, I have made some new friends (always looking for more) and I'm sure I've inadvertently made some people mad.  Like in any other situation in this world you have to know your audience...  TheBoundBook, keep enjoying your hobby, keep buying and fixing up those machines and giving them new life.  I wish you the best in your endeavors to liquidate your existing inventory.  Have a great day everyone.

Mike

Supply and Demand. If you can get $700-800 for an S+, do it. Price is determined by what your local market will support. I think the only 2 mistakes you made are:

1.) Not introducing yourself. (No offense, but I don't know if you know your butt from the inside of a slot machine. Why would I trust a stranger who, for all I know, has never worked on a slot machine before.)
2.) Offering at "Wholesale", before you were educated on your audience and wholesale pricing. Many people misuse the word wholesale and apply it to anything sold in a group. Wholesalers buy with the intent of reselling the product. The product needs to be priced with enough meat on the bone after transport, storage, advertising, overhead, etc. I have NEVER known a dealer to buy shopped machines...Batteries are cheap, so is labor to shop a machine (especially an S+). A good tech could be done in under 2 hours (and that's an average, some machines 30 minutes, some machines 4 hrs).  Clean and polish, 1 more hour (and that's a really dirty machine).

Stay at it. You'll get down to 6-8 like you planned just by selling locally.

I guess my "INTRODUCTION in March got missed, and yes it was pretty vague..."

FROM THE THREAD: 29     General NLG Chat / The Welcome Wagon / Re: The Welcome Wagon Thread

Hi, everyone!!!! BRAND NEW HERE, AND BOY, LOVE WHAT I SEE ON THIS SITE!!!! I have owned a Bally 6000 machine (25 cent, 1-3 coins) for a couple years and love it... I have just bought myself 45 more slot machines this week that all came from Venetion Hotel Years ago from a guy....  Sigma, IGT, and Williams machines... All of them are made in the 90s...  Have dot matrix ones (X Factor, Winning Streak, and Jackpot Party), to IGT Slots of every kind and denomination and then some Sigma machines like Tunnel Treasure and others...  Been working 12+ hours a day, learning by trial and error how to get ach of them up and running perfectly... Lots of problems, but already have 3 100% perfect and 4 are just minor voltage issues to a couple other situations I have read about here and will apply in morning...

Oh, I live here in Salt Lake County, Utah...  Just 10 min. from doorstep to Snowbird Ski Resort and 15 minutes to Alta!!!!  Also 15 and 20 minutes to Solitude and Brighton Ski Resorts Respectively...  Any questions feel free to ask!!!!  I will be selling all the machines (AND/OR PARTS POSSIBLY TOO)

Yeah, I missed your intro. So belated welcome to NLG.  :88-
You are doing what I did seven years ago, buying a bunch of slots, learning to fix'em and sell them, then keeping a few. Lots of fun! Like you I started out knowing nothing about slots in 2006.
I've seen the price of slots like the S+ and Universal's drop over the years. Back in 06 and earlier you could get up to $1000 for an S+. Think that is why we see so many listed on Craiglist for high prices now as the owner(s) probably bought it for a bunch years ago and are now finding them hard to unload at high prices.
What worked for me was finding local amusement game auctions and cosigning my machines. Even any public auction would do. Often got better prices than selling online and sold 3-4 machines at a time.

Also like you, I'm originally from Michigan and like sports betting too! College football is my favorite, best luck has been Big10 and MAC.

Had to laugh when I saw your karma at -9. Think your opening ad blindsided some folks.

Here's a  :259-
